Well wazza had me take 3 x 1500 pregnyl. 1 day before transfer, 1 after day of transfer and then 1 6 days later, so maybe a bit different to you Emski? And yes Blinky 100% with you - must be able to look back and have no regrets.

Ladies, the hubby and I are having a lot of trouble finding the right donor for us. I'm just wondering if anyone used/considered 'global egg donors'. What are your thoughts?
It makes me a little nervous as they don't CFC and of the clinics they do use none of them were on the list that my local FS recommended.
Getting quite down about it as i feel like we may never find a donor that meets what we want and there are certain things that we simply don't want to compromise on.

It can be hard wazbub. I did look at global - but they were quite a bit more than the other agencies and it kind of annoyed me. I know we searched for a long time - DH left it pretty well up to me to come up with a list as he felt a bit weird about it all and then we made final selections together. I'm guessing you've made a list of musts and would likes but could compromise? Over time my list slowly changed as I accepted certain things.

Funny your protocol sounds the same as another patient of his I know but mine was slightly different.

Wazza had me do 1 day before, 1 day after and 4 days after Tx.. All my googling at the time when I was trying to decide if it was worth POAS said it 'roughly' takes 1-2 days per 1000iu to metabolise through your system.. (But everyone is different 😳 )
I'm sure he puts us on it just to make us wait..πŸ˜‰

Wazbub have you considered asking the agencies for suggestions based on your criteria ? Often if a donor has recently donated their profiles will be 'taken down' until they are allowed to donate again (they have to have a 3 month break after donation).
Also we found that a lot of profiles aren't necessarily 'up to date'.
So for instance our donor that we used this time didn't have her profile visible because she had donated just as we were looking but was available at the time we wanted to cycle. Also her original profile didn't include any previous donations but she had actually donated twice (very successfully )... Just a thought.

I did make some enquiries with Global Egg donors about a couple of donors and my experiences with them were not positive at all - infact I found them quite abrasive and rude.

I always went with the theory that there is a reason CFC have a list of recommended agencies - I don't think Global are on the list of SA accredited agencies either (could be wrong) they are US based so you see adult photos, but they are a lot more expensive... I got kind of a creepy money making vibe from them.

So I had my 8 week scan today with my OB.
He found the 2 heartbeats at 159 & 166 bpm.
He has 2 concerns, we saw where I had the bleed 3 weeks ago and he is worried if it bleeds again, the other issue is I have a large (5cm) fibroid in my uterus near to the embryos. We are going to keep a close eye on how the embryos are growing as if the placenta is on the fibroid there may be insufficient blood flow & therefore growth.

Dr will be more confident once I have the 12 week scan. So fingers crossed. Also morning sickness has kicked in all day.

Default Egg Donation in South Africa #8

    Welcome back Hoping4best.
From what everyone is saying, it does sound like implantation bleeding but I have everything crossed for you that this will be your time! Keep being positive.

What a trooper Blinky with all your bed rest. How sneaky going on those little outings! Ha ha... I would have done the same. Yes, fantastic your boss is so understanding.

Hi to SA girls, glad you have all had such great catch ups and hope your transfers all went to plan.

AFM..I had a follow up scan today and FS said the size was as it should be and heartbeat was 150. Scan said 7wks 3 days, but last Monday it said 6 wks 1 day, so it keeps changing by a few days. The online calculator says 7.4 anyway so I'll go with 7.3!
Big relief all is good. Next scan in 2 weeks!

    Annabelle,
I bet you were pleased to see the two heartbeats beating at a great rate.
Hoping everything ends up ok and there are no more bleeds.
Just 4 more weeks! It will fly.
    All the best 😊
