Hi girls, long time no speak....I've been just catching up with all of the recent posts and looks like March girls are doing pretty well too! Congrats to all good egg results and good luck for the upcoming transfers! Thinking of you there in CT and hope you had a fab dinner last night!

Blinky, looks like we are both a bit doomed with our bedrests and I'm sorry to hear about your pain...go and check it out just to be in safe side! I presume you've chosen your OB?

AFM - my reason for being quiet is that I haven't coped quite well with the combination of things, I've been having quite bad pregnancy blues Bedrest, not having control over my life, over my body, missing my friends and going out, missing my own mum (Skype not enough on that occasion)...and not to mention the real concern over the actual pregnancy!

We still have two kicking, the weaker one have picked up which was quite a surprise. The concern however is that the sack is still considerably smaller than the other, indicating that it's not quite right. I'm scared something is wrong with the baby and we may face very rough decisions in the coming weeks. It scares the hell out of me! There's still a chance it will all be fine and there's aslo a chance of it dissolving. So all is in the air and only time will tell.

Annabelle, how are you doing, haven't heard from you either for a while? Hope all is well?

Take care all lovely ladies and stay strong! What an incredible journey we are all sharing! Xx

Fantastic numbers for the March ladies best of luck for your transfers Monday.

Devaki sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time it sounds like you have had so much going on. Hugs and hope everything turns out okay.

I have been okay just a little morning sickness in the afternoon & evening which I can manage with eating small meals. I have my first OB appointment in the morning so it will be interesting to see what has happened in the last 10 days. Still a bit anxious about having twins and it is still early and anything could happen. I feel like I am just keeping the biggest secret. Only my immediate family know I'm pregnant and no one else but me & my FS know about the twins. So I'm keeping 2 big secrets from everyone and I'm hoping I don't start showing soon, pants are starting to get tight.

Well have had such a lovely start to my second Cape Town adventure, a fabulous girly dinner last night with Crabby and Canuck. Then today Canuck and I randomly ended up at Mont Rochelle (Richard Branson's estate) for massages, wine tastings (just a little), lunch and a cellar and vineyard tour. Such an amazing day and highly recommend going there and Faith at Medical Tourism who organised for us.

Devaki, sorry to hear things are not going smoothly. I can only imagine how difficult this is, but thinking of you.

Blinky, glad your little ones are doing well and the bed rest is paying off. I'm sure it's normal to be sore when on such extended bed rest, but good thing to get it checked. I've been curious, are you able to work remotely or strictly time off work bed rest?

Big day tomorrow, I'm very excited and nice to know I'm amongst friends with the partner at home this trip! He's quite grateful for the support for me too!

    xx

PSS - so glad to hear you have had a good start to your visit to Cape Town!

To answer your question: being the independent resourceful girl I am, Id like to say that I have been able to work remotely (something that to a degree is possible and part of the normal routine in my job)
In reality though the medications and their SE (Valium haze) have meant that I haven't really achieved anything much with regards to work.
I have had the odd day where I was up to doing about 1 1/2- 2 hours of work but would then 'crash ' and need to sleep for 3 hours. Other days I just haven't had the concentration span to even open the computer.. (I'm not sure if that's the anxiety of everything that's been happening, prego brain or the prednisone which affects my memory/concentration or a combination of all three)

Add in quite a few visits to hospital for intralipids, doctors appointments etc and the significant 'overall tiredness' and nausea and well yeah not much has been done 😳

In my situation the FS instructions were 'strict bedrest with nothing that will cause stress or exertion' - when discussed he said I could move from the bed to the couch but nothing else (no cooking, no housework, nothing ..)

I had up until last week adhered to this but last week did 'escape' on two separate days for short errands with my mother or DH and just the short hour I was out was enough to make me sleep for hours afterwards...

It's certainly going to make going back to work proper interesting that's for sure...
I know I am very fortunate though that I have an employer who is very understanding and accommodating. (They head hunted me a year ago under the proviso that they were aware we were doing fertility treatment and this might happen)
