    Default Hey

    Hey I have the same problem as your Husbands and believe me we all blame ourselves as lets face it 90% of Infertility problems are caused by women so when we hear it being a problem we generally just write-it-off to life being ****.

    For a man since only 1% of men world wide have the problem it makes us feel not only that we are singled out but that we suck as a human being.

    Imagine for Centuries men being able to have kids then finding out off all people in existance your a select few who cant its not fair.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

    Can anyone tell me if this sounds promising

    Was Diagnosed with Azoospermia (Zero Sperm) on two SA test one NHS and the other Private.

    The doctor who I went to visit (Private) told me that he needed to do a blood test for FSH and LH

    Today I got the result.

    My FSH is 5.8 and my LH is 5.6 which according to the Doc my testosterone is in the low level with 7 - 12 being the desired range.

    He wants me to take pills to get my Testosterone up to hopefully help my situation and also said that he would like a Biopsy done.

    I guess considering what I have read I have two options

    1) Its correctable
    2) It will be unexplained for ever.

    What I mean is seritol-single cell and the genetics all cause High FSH were as all the correctable ones seem to be where FSH is normal and LH is low.

    That being said it also leaves possiblity that its one of the very,very few that are unexplained e.g. with high FSH there are at least common places to check for problems.

    This is a positive outlook isnt it?

    @JimmyCricket

    If your bloods show low hormones that is a good sign as it is generally reversible. You should be able to get sperm back into the ejacualate. What medication have you been put on ?

    @JimmyCricket: Please find a specialist who is specialized in male infertility. Any form of direct testosterone therapy will actually kill sperm cell! It makes the matter worse. Unless the pill he is putting you on is not steroid or some sort of testosterone pill.

    To be honest, I personally don't believe it is reversible unless it is lifestyle and diet related. This is based on many research papers that i read in the past. Of course, if there is new research, I wont' have known. If your FSH/LH/testosterone levels are within the normal range, you have a good chance. That's a positive note. Is the dr going to do a needle aspiration biopsy? There are many types of biopsy. You don't want to do the open testicle biopsy just yet. Once you have done the biopsy, you will know better what you are dealing with.

    1 percent of the population is still a LOT. The world population is 7.4 billion. 1% is 74 million people. This is what my DH said. I guess we have gone through this journey and crossed to the other side. Our perspective changes. Yes, it is NOT fair. It is NOT right. It is the way it is. We have tried our best and that's nothing more we could do but to accept.

    You mentioned NHS. It sounded like you are from the UK. I read about Dr Ramsey from London. He seems to be the go to guy there.

    Thanks for checking in @bbhope. The thread has been rather quiet. And i think it's because of all the waiting involved with azoo. Our mTESE and ivf is pushed to august. So, three more months waiting. I'm sick of the wait. What a test of patience !!
    DH has done a lot of work to gain weight and become more healthy (he is very skinny normally). Hopefully the healthy eating and gym, arimidex, and fertility vitamins help somewhat.
    We ordered an adoption information package. It's such a long process just to get approval. And even then no guarantee of placement. It makes me a bit sick. But we are going to try every option available to us. All we want is a child, at the end of the day.
    For donor sperrm, we are trying to figure out how we feel with "anon" donor.
    Also looking into embryo donation, but I've heard both parities need to be infertile for being eligible to get an embryo.

    How is everyone else??

    @MrsSIG: how comes? I thought you are booked in for May.

    Yes, embryo donation is only available for both infertile couple. Perhaps it is OK if you know someone who is willing to donate the embryo direct to you? Adoption is very difficult in this country. One of my friends told me that it takes 7 yrs and no guarantee a placement. You wonder why most people try different options like surrogate, sperm and egg donations.
    @Barca07: how is the preg going?
    @littlesunflower: project sibling is underway? Any luck?

    Hi!

    I'm 7 weeks yesterday... Have my scan tomorrow. I'm Sooo nervous...Can't wait to get it over and done with!

    So far so good. I don't really get any pregnancy symptoms, so feel pretty good it's very off putting not having symptoms though... I'd give anything for all day morning sickness, just for the reassurance that I'm still pregnant! Lol.

    How's Bubs going??

    Congrats @Barca07 so exciting!!! I had no pregnancy symptoms either but sure enough there was my little Lenny growing away. I'm sure it will all be wonderful! Good luck xx
    @MrsSIG that's a pest but the extra time as you said might be worth it in the long run. We waited the six months between TESA/TESE and mTESE and whilst it didn't give us the result we wanted it allowed us enough time to have a holiday and be really sure sperm donor was our path. By the time it rolled around I was ready and so was DH. It was another couple of months before we had a viable pregnancy though. Trust me once the baby arrives, everything absolutely flies by! I can't believe how fast the last five and half months have gone.
    @bbhope how is Bub travelling? I'll PM you x

    @bbhope

    We were booked in for May, but then my fs is on leave may and June and she was going to refer me to another fs to do the ivf. I don't want to go with another fs because she is good (you know my fs), knows our case and will be able to assist with DH microTESE if needed. We tried to book for July when she is back, but DH wouldn't get time off work. So it is early August. *sigh* meanwhile I just need to keep him healthy and happy.

    How are you doing with bubs?

    @Barca07, good luck today!!!
    @JenniwithanI, how is your bubs going? I can't wait till I have one ... I hope it happens

    Good luck for your scan then, @Barca07.
    @MrsSIG: yes, if this is your only shot, take your time.
    @Jenniwithanl: PM you.

    Bubba is a bit behind in development but there is nothing to concern about. He just doesn't have much opportunity to do tummy time. He vomits often while on his tummy. We are getting few things sorted for him. More Dr appts. I am a bit upset. All due to one incompetent paed. Anyway, he is smiling, giggling a lot as well.
