    Hi @Barca07
I'm so so sorry for your loss, that's so unfair.. Did they say how it happened? I hope you get heaps of support and closure ..

We are in Sydney , going to ivfa in Greenwich. Hopefully they have a good counsellor there.

@MrsSIG: i know Greenwich has a good one. I will PM you.

Edit: when I had a spotting at 8w, DH was as anxious as I was that we might lose another baby.

The biggest hurdle i have found is trying to get passed that DH won't be genetically connected, he is still coming to terms with that he will always wonder "why" I to have days but I just need to look at it from a different perspective. We've told only those who we can trust about it an have told them that we will when it's time tell the child and asked them to treat the child no different to any other child. I do believe in nurture vs nature an believe that bub will pick up his attributes and habits as its what they grow up with and he will also be the one the picks him/her up when they fall and make things better and make them laugh and play with them. Last week he had the day off and to my surprise I came home to the nursery half set up that night he actually told me he was excited. He's been to every appointment he's listened and felt my belly, he talks about our child and what things he wants to do as they grow. The part that can be difficult is the explaining where and how they got here, but there's books out there to help this explain from an early age. We looked into adoption but that's a long winded process too..

    Default Beginning journey

Hi all, found out 3 weeks ago that my partners first SA came back as azoo and I have been researching everything I can since. I have PCOS and didn't conceive when I was married previously so I have always thought I may have to do IVF but I wasn't expecting this news. Next step is to get results from our genetic blood tests and ultrasound and take it from there. If we need to use donor sperm how long is the wait? We are in Sydney Australia and going to Genea. I read somewhere that it was an 18 month wait but I'm really hoping it's not that long because I will be 35 in March and it seems like an impossible wait if we need to use donor sperm. Feeling so heartbroken My partner is a tradesperson and has worked on sites with radiation so we think it may be from that but we will find out our results next week.

I am sorry to hear @OneGreatDay!!! If I get it right, ganae is only allowed you to use known donor. The wait isn't long at all in Sydney. The reason we WA ladies go there. Some don't have a wait list. At IVFA, the wait is 4 months.

Got interrupted. @OneGreatDay: I hope they find that it is obstructive or just caused by radiation which might be able to reverse. This thread had been a life saver. It is a tough and long journey. Take good care of each other. Xx

    Hi @OneGreatDay.

    Sorry about the news!!

We used donor through IVFA. I can't remember how long the wait list was, but it wasn't too long. For us, the whole process from getting the first SA results to first embryo transfer was a bit less than a year (could have been quicker, but we moved from WA to NSW during this time, so had to transfer clinics, etc)

In NSW you need to undergo 2 counseling session before you can access donor sperm... Something to keep in mind if you go down this path.

Fingers crossed you don't need to go down that path!

Thanks for everyone's support. I'm so glad that I found this forum, looking through older posts I can see it's a really good source of information about things I can ask my specialist that I never would have thought of. Xo
