Yeah dd1 is loving it, this is her 3rd class and she is doing so well! she asked of she could do 2 lessons a week but we said this year she can stick to the 1 and next year if she still wants to, she can do 2.

DD did gymnastics for a bit ... but it gets pretty full on after a while. They were heavily into pushing them into competitive gym which DD didnt like.

DF did it when he was younger. He made it to state and then quit because it was so full on. I don't think he wants our boys to do it.

yeah DD did that level where they were preparing for state champs (she wasnt actually that good, but the club wanted her friend to do it who was, so DD got to as well )

she dropped out after about 6 months though ... it was so incredibly full on for a child so young. They really push them.

(and it was mega expensive. 7 hrs a week makes it cost more than I was prepared to pay)

Yeah you have to decide whether they're going to the Olympics or school and really at that age they should be able to play and live without outside pressure.

I looooved doing gymnastics and I got to the elite level. I quit when I was 13 and it was the first time in my life that I didn't train every day (when I wasn't training at the gym, I trained at home). My parents never pushed me into any of it, it was never a chore because I loved it so much and when I was done they let me quit straight away.
