Ok this is the current state of the house we are renovating. It looks like quite the mess but we have actually done a fair bit of work already. Once the new sliding door, windows and kitchen go in it'll mostly just be cosmetic work left to do, painting and decorating, I can't wait!! And then the garden too
This is how the place currently looks from outside

This used to be two small rooms but we cut the concrete out in the middle to make it one big space, windows have been taken out and new cypress floor down.

This shows the insulation we put under the floor.

Our modwood verandah, modwood is such awesome stuff, made from a mixture of pine shavings and recycled milk bottles, it looks good, is durable and feels nice under foot too, and best of all no yearly oiling!

@honey gold how exciting all those changes are! What is the price of mod wood like compared to 100% wood? Do they have heaps of different colour options?

The first coat of paint just went on our walls and I'm so glad it looks exactly how I pictured it.

Here's a photo from our bedroom

It's called Dulux White Duck (half strength). Then we have dieskeu (grey) in our bathroom and ensuite

The mod wood looks great - I wished we used it on our deck outside...DH would only use Jarrah and some pieces have warped so already 8 months down the track we need to get areas replaced! And don't even get me started on the oiling....

The floorboards are made by Godfrey Hirst, the type is "Regal Oak Handcrafted" and the colour is Windsor.

They're a timber (oak) floating floor

The modwood is a bit more expensive but it has basically no maintenance costs and lasts up to 20 years. There is I think 8 colour options.

I love that paint colour, might put something like that in our bedroom/office.

Masters has just opened in Adelaide. I went there to buy my copper glass done lights yesterday. I loved how they had more decorating things and nicer looking storage solutions, but overall I think I still prefer bunnings. I found the kitchens looked really quite cheap and plastic-y.

I think I've found our final light since Beacon no longer do the one for my lounge that I wanted. This is it... It's 50% off too!
