Default Are you building, renovating or decorating?

So we are currently building a new house and I'm really into all of the above and love talking about these things, sharing ideas etc.

I'd love to hear about other people's projects they are working on and we can share ideas and offer inspiration.

So I'm currently sourcing our lighting so I thought I'd share what I've found / bought.

3 of these above our kitchen island

1 of these in our dining area and 1 in the family room

2 of these in our front hall way and 1 in the stairwell

1 of these in our bedroom and 1 in the front lounge room

So anyone else want to share their projects?

We are renovating a solid concrete farmhouse. It was pretty run down so heaps of work to do before it's liveable. So far it has a new roof, concrete cut out to make three small rooms into one connected space, new floor in what will be kitchen/dining, electrics and plumbing, new verandah and today two water tanks got delivered. We are making it as energy efficient as possible as we will basically run everything off our big solar trackers but still connected to grid for backup. The aim is to have it insulated enough that we rarely need to use aircon in summer.

Wow, that's awesome! I love how sustainable your reno is!

We will eventually get solar panels in our place as I like the idea of not needing to pay for electricity and generate our own.

What kind of style are you going for inside?

I'm more of a classic-contemporary fusion kind of gal (if there's such a thing)

I'm going to create some sort of fusion between country and contemporary, with a few 1950s touches as that was when the house was originally built. The house has gorgeous pressed metal ceilings in every room.

How exciting that you are building a new house A-squared. I can't wait til I get to the decorating part, a couple of months before then I think.

We're building too!!! Frame and windows were finished last week, bricks coming Monday. Finally feels like we will actually live there😀

I really like your kitchen pendants!

I can't upload pics, how do I enable that?

I'm spending up a store at the moment, our spare room is full of stuff in bags & boxes!!

It's so exciting once the bricks go on as it does feel like a proper house!

We purchased our house in May 2013 and started the demo and build process then so ours has been a long time coming!

What sorts of things have you bought?

I've since decided against buying those white drum shades as they're only 38cm wide and we have quite large rooms so they may look lost in them.

Are you using the BH app? You need to give the app access to use your photos. Once you have enabled that (in settings on your phone - if using iPhone or iPad) you should then see the camera and photo symbols at the bottom if where you type into your posts (to the left of the Tweet/Twitter button).

I sourced the chrome kitchen ones from China.

The triple light is from Eglo Lighting in Adelaide

The bronze glass lights are from Masters

The white drum pendants are from Zanui.
