Early to the Kids ER with my 5yo daughter (she's started to have seizures poor poppet), then hungry jacks for lunch because I haven't grocery shopped all week (because of the seizures), then off to a girlfriends house for a pre-planned cook off (I won, can't believe it). Then home to a pizza and that Oz movie on TV

Woke up at 3am to our kettle burning out, house stinks of plastic burn, so I've been up cleaning and airing the house since.

Hubby has offered no strings attached massage later ... I just want some sleep!

No, but doesn't look like I needed to, didn't they smash 2 million in under 24 hours or something crazy?

Hahahaha yeah, it was bananas. You should do me a solid and like their Facebook page, though! If we get to 100k likes we get the final stretch goal! It's the most backed Kickstarter of all time!

I'll set up a nice table and we'll eat dinner out there with the sunset, while our ducks wander around the backyard (I hope they understand they're being used to make it look whimsical and romantic and don't ruin it by pooping right next to us or trying to steal our food. I should have made our drake wear a bow tie. Although, there's still time..... )

So.... an update on expectations Vs reality. My expectation above sounded like something out of a cute little fairytale didn't it....

    Reality:

Set up garden with pretty candles and lovely table setting. DH cooks amazing roast and brings it out. All going well so far.... our ducks are wandering around the yard, looking pretty (they're the big white ones almost like something out of a Disney cartoon too).....

Then our male duck starts attacking our baby duckling and trying to constantly (and violently) mate with the females - even pulling their feathers out. They're all running around and screaming. So DH grabs him and we're sitting at our lovely dinner table with him holding a 6kg drake under his arm, eating with his other free hand. The duck is kicking his legs and waving his neck around, having a FULL ON tantrum (letting us know in no uncertain terms that it is NOT okay to c0ck block him on Valentines Day I think). He ends up kicking food off DH's plate, so we stop eating and grab some materials to create a 'sin bin' to put the duck in (before he kicks over a candle and burns the backyard down). NOT EXACTLY AS ROMANTIC AS I PICTURED IT.
