Default Can't take it any longer

I'm so depressed. Hubby has been back nearly a month and hasn't found a job we have no money (had no money before.) he quit to come home for hugo as the hospitals better here.

He's been diagnosed with dysphagia & he can't eat it's so hard I'm tired. It's time consuming and takes all our money. $160 x2 a week for speech apps.

How can there not be jobs for him nothing even at agencies. Everything is bouncing in our accounts 😥 I'm just waiting for our house and car to get taken off us. It's been a horrible year.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. Have you explained your situation to every financial institution you have loans with? Do you have a mortgage- let them know asap they might be able to do something? Also can centrelink do anything?

It sounds like you have enough to worry about without having the added financial stress.

Hopefully someone else will be more helpful. I really hope things improve soon

Our house is rented out but we have been using the money to pay for specialist appointments and food etc. We are living on floor at my mils (kids have rooms).

We put application in for NDIS this week and he needs a special X-ray because they think food is going to his lungs more so than his stomach. He chokes on EVERYTHING. Refusal of foods (not just normal baby) they think this is to do with being on life support. He gets defensive and won't allow things near his face. Spills most his milk/water. So now we are on thickners I can't even afford the thickeners 😭

we have sold everything we own nothing but a bed and two cots I feel like everything we worked hard for is gone.

I can't find childcare to even go back to study for myself (incase hubby found a job) I try and be optimistic daily etc but it's really hard. All I can see is just sell our house

Have you got a healthcare card? If not go to centrelink and apply for it, it will bring your healthcare costs way down and many tests, medications and appointments can be bulk billed or far far cheaper if you have one. I see no reason why you wouldn't qualify if you are both not currently in work. Make sure you tell them at appointments that you have one. Are you getting enough financial assistance from centrelink too? Perhaps an appointment with them could see you qualify for something you don't know about - just a thought.

I'm sorry things are tough, I hope things improve for you very soon.

Eta talk to your bank about the mortgage, they often have hardship suspensions or similar they can place to ease financial stress for a short period of time.

Is there something very temporary and casual your hubby could do? Even junk mail, they have pop up weekend cash jobs on gum tree a fair bit. Just something to bring even $70 a week in

I am so sorry you are going through a rough time.
Do you have a health care card to bring medical appointments cheaper?
Can you approach St Vinnies etc to see what aid they can offer?

I'm sorry things are so tough atm. Have you applied for newstart for him, PPP for you, FTB? With a few kids that would amount to well over a grand even not getting rent assistance since you are living with your MIL. Do you have a lot of debt beyond your car and house? Are you able to put even some of the rent from the tenants onto the mortgage?
