Default Suspected miscarriage don't know what to think.

I've been told that I am mostly likely having a failed pregnancy but I just can't seem to get a definitive answer! My LMP was January 8 it was a very heavy period which lasted a lot longer than normal. I started spotting 1 week after my period it was like a brown discharge. After 5 days of this (Aust Day) I decided to take a pregnancy test which was positive. I got a hcg test done and my levels were 2500 and they said I was further along than I thought and that my period on the 8th was a bleed in the pregnancy. I had a scan on the 30th which showed a sac that was 4mm and it was empty no fetal pole and no yolk. I was sent away to get more hcg tests. My next hcg test was 3900 which I was told was not enough of a rise. The day after the scan I began bleeding heavily with clots. I am still bleeding now 11 days. I had another hcg text which was 7 days after the last one and my level was 10000. Once again I'm told this is no where near enough of a rise. Had a scan yesterday and sac is still there and it has grown to 7mm but still no baby etc. I am so lost with all of this and I just want it to be over!!!! Sorry for the long vent.

Sorry to hear FTMumma, It's very cruel that we have to experience things like this. Unfortunately it's out of our control and there's nothing we can do. Just keep telling yourself everything happens for a reason and maybe after a little while you'll start believing it. It will get you through. Don't apologize for venting, we need to talk about these things. Hopefully it all turns out well. Big hugs

That's not nice at all OP. I'm sorry you're going through it.

Personally, if I were in your shoes I'd be demanding answers / options from my doctor.

Have you got a good GP?

    All the best xx

    Default Update

Hi ladies thanks for the responses. I received a phone call from the hospital today which I missed gggrrrrrr. They left me a message to say my levels had gone up to 16000 which is only an increase of 6000 in 5 days. Of course it was a private number and i cant call back. So I started to bleed heavily again yesterday with more clots and today when I got to work I went straight to the toilet and as soon as I sat down something big just came out. It felt different to the clots (so sorry to the TMI) i couldn't really tell what it was but it was just at the bottom of the toilet. I am just so lost with this I don't understand how they can just keep saying come back in a week. Surely this amount of bleeding (7 days spotting and now on day 12 of bleeding) cant be healthy.

UPDATE! Well I got so sick if the waiting around that I went to a different hospital. They checked my cervix which was open and I had a D and C this morning. Glad this nightmare ordeal is over and I can move on.

I'm so sorry for your loss, @FTMumma. It's such a horrible ordeal to go through. It sounds like you passed the pregnancy sac in the toilet at work. I hope that you can find peace and move on from this. Were you actively TTC?
