    Default Spin off BLW

    hi

Ok i dont have babies but i have a grandson 8 months and ive been reading about BLW on threads here and i have a cpl of questions and dont want to derail the thread that a member started.

When my babies started to eat, id give them bits of fruit, vegies, bones with meat, rusks, biccys, stews, fish etc... id feed them and theyd also feed themselves at the same time so is this BLW and wasnt called this back in 95 and 97?

I ask , as Im now a grandma and want to be in touch with whats happening..

    thanks in advance

    Default Spin off BLW

    Yep pretty similar!

Baby led weaning is just waiting until they are old enough to skip purées ( usually 6+ months) and putting a range of finger foods in their tray and letting them eat what and as much as they want

I did only finger foods , BLW style, with my DS at 6 months, in the first week he had eaten : steamed broccoli, grilled salmon, egg, avocado, cucumber, goats yogurt, rice cakes, quinoa porridge, roasted sweet potato , strawberries and bananas! By 9 months he was eating everything we were, just in appropriate sized pieces

Same here. Bub's just started eating solids. She sits on my lap and I give her what I can from my plate. Small pieces about the size of a pea, or big chunks that she can hold on to herself and gum slowly to smithereens. Did the same with our 1st. I'm sure heaps of people do BLW without calling it BLW.
