Default We made it to 12 months!

There were definitely times over the last year that I didn't think we'd make it but today we celebrate 12 months of breastfeeding! It's only in the mornings and for comfort now but we still feed. 💓

Thanks hun! I plan to keep breastfeeding but when things went so badly for us, I thought we might not make it this far! I don't know when we'll stop. Maybe when he sleeps through and doesn't want boob at 5am? I know I'll be sad when he weans, though, I really do love breastfeeding. ☺️

Can I ask what you will do if he doesn't self-wean? Is there a cut-off age for you?

I dunno, I guess I'll see how I feel as time goes on. If he doesn't wean by 3, I'll assess how often we're feeding and maybe wean then. I'm planning on getting pregnant around the middle of this year and a lot of friends have said their bubs went off breast milk when that happened.

I had similar struggles to you with my first and also used a supply line for months and months. I ended up breastfeeding DS well past his second birthday. I wanted to feed through my next pregnancy so I would have milk straight up and not have to worry about milk coming in for the new baby etc. Didn't work. DS didn't go off feeding, I did. I just can't do pregnancy and breastfeeding at the same time.

FWIW I had no issues the second (third and fourth) times around, everything just clicked. I was more relaxed and knew what I was doing, and my girls fed like champs from day one.
That's great to know! One of the things I struggle with is how to trust my boobs next time around. I don't want a repeat of what happened this time!

Gosh I hope it's like that for me next time!
