Default Air New Zealand tips and reviews please

We finally booked our international flights yesterday with Air New Zealand flying from Brisbane to L.A via Aukland. Right now we only booked basic seats but are thinking of upgrading to the sky couches for the Aukland to L.A leg. Anyone have and tips or reviews on Air NZ and /or their sky couches?

We did that flight but from Gold Coast. Depending on your lay over time in Auckland I would recommend buying a pass to their business lounge we could then all have a shower and freshen up and have a warm meal and drinks. I was thinking about getting the sky lounge but chose not to as they didnt really seem comfy and we managed fine in economy, one of the flight attendant wrote out a lust of good places to go shopping in L.A
My dd was 3 at the time and we had a trunki to put spare clothes in and she could sit on it and we could pull her along in the airport, they are pricy but a great kids suitcase.
I could ramble on all day lol

I have been upgraded to the sky couches once and I think it's worth it if the extra is within budget especially long distance. So much more room and much more comfortable - hope you have an excellent trip

Glad everyone has had great experiences with them our layover in Aukland is only 2 hours going over so we won't bother with lounge passes but we are there 5 hours on the way home so might look into it. I am really seriously thinking of getting the sky couches just so the 3 kids can be comfy and sleep

Air new zealand sky lounges are amazing. So awesome to be able to lay down & sleep. If you can afford the upgrade do it for sure

We're flying with air nz too to LA in June. We'll have a 15month old DS with us so it will be interesting lol. Flights were cheap and I thought about upgrading to the sky couches but didn't know anything about them
