That's absolutely hilarious. As I have previously stated, I am embarrassed for her!

Just on this, media outlets have been known to use people's Facebook profile pics (which are public by default). I'm not saying that this was the case for this woman, but just that it does happen.

Look, I think it's a bit ridiculous, but in the same breath it's something that should have been tested for as routine when testing other things for symptoms. I've had to do pregnancy tests as routine when GPs are doing health checks for 'random' symptoms, despite me saying 'no I'm not pregnant'.

Like another PP posted point out, if she is certain that she would have terminated the pregnancy to continue with her studies, then I do believe she is entitled to some compensation, but she also needs to take some responsibility that she hadn't questioned the possibility of being pregnant.

Edit - I've just read more of the previous comments, it appears the woman in question likes a bit of media attention, eh?

Yes exactly this, she needs to prove causation for her "loss", she would need to establish she would have 100% had a termination if she had known about the pregnancy earlier to have a successful medical negligence claim.

She also needs to prove that the doctor erred or did not conduct treatment with reasonable care/skill. The simple fact that it wasn't diagnosed isn't actually enough!
