hi lucymoo. sorry I have taken so long to reply properly. I have read a few and seen many books about dealing with depression, I wonder if you have found any to help you.? you seem to have an ability to write and express yourself very well. I wonder if just writing a journal or something for yourself, would that help to ease some of your anxiety. you don't have to censor anything you say, it will be just for your eyes. I have also just recently read a book by desmond tutu. about forgiveness. refering to the trials at the end of apartheid in south Africa. how is the treatment for the graves disease? is that helping you to manage the symptoms ok. ? perhaps if you focus on one problem at a time and try to not think of everything you want to 'fix'. your relationship with your daughter is the most important, and it seems you have that ok. mega hugs. marie.

Hi! Thank you for the reply.
So I've tried journals but I have this thing where I get bored with things very easily and just stop doing them... So I get 3 days in and just can't be bothered continuing!
As far as the Graves' goes, my thyroid currently is stable so not on any medication, but it goes up and down a lot. It's one of those diseases that just makes you feel like crap often...
You're right, I do need to focus on one thing. I've been trying to think of something I can do for a career to get a job and earn some money but jobs are a minefield when it comes to me because I don't know how much I can handle, mentally or physically. I just feel so useless all the time.

The forgiveness thing I could use though. I still harbour so much resentment toward my narcissistic, sociopathic ex that it does best me down some days - like the other day finding out his girlfriend is now living with him. My daughter has a new insta-family and I get to be alone? After everything he's done?

hi again, lucymoo, have you found any books to help with dealing with depression, or anxiety,?? even also chronic illness. sometimes there might be just one thing you cant get your head around, but then you read how someone did something, or stared thinking in a different pattern, and they found a solution. I do think you might find a direction if you just start telling your story, on paper. start at the beginning, not today. hugs, marie.
