    That sounds like what I've got on DP's pillow. Waterproof but soft, like the Ikea fitted mattress protectors.

    My ex dh has this same issue. Not only a big fat sweaty head but he'd also drool heaps too, gross. You could literally smell his pillow as you walked up the stairs (*vomit!) I would put one of those extra thick quilted pillow protectors on it, which I changed all the time, washed and dried in the sun. I also washed his pillows regularly.

    It didn't help much though, only three days or so and the stench would be back.

    Yep. I'm right there with you. I would freshen the pillow as best you can with sunshine, washing, whatever you can and then get the water proof pillow protector. When we change the sheets dh sniffs his pillow and says 'I can't believe these don't smell'.
