Default Who has a treadmill at home?

I'm asking for a friend who wants to buy a treadmill for their home.

They don't want to spend a fortune.

If you have a treadmill at home, I would love to hear what you have and how much you paid for it.

Any brand recommendations or brands to steer clear of would be a great help too!

    TIA

I have an extra wide 'proforma' treadmill. Have had it for about 5 years and both DH and I use it. It was about $2500 from memory on sale (they are probably much cheaper now). It is hardy and solid (has been outside undercover for a while and its still going well) if you have really bad balance - like me - I cant walk in a straight line, I would recommend getting a wide mat one

I'm currently hiring an Infiniti ss1200i for six months and that cost $530. If I use it, I'll probably get a NordicTrack, they're amazing and from all the research I did, they're the best. Rebel Sport have them quite cheap at the moment on sale! Around $1000 for a good one (I want the 23.0 which is $2-2.5k from memory).

Things to look for, wide belt, "hot keys" to select incline and speed quickly (great for HIIT training), electric incline and decline and I'd kill for the fan the NordicTracks have in them that blow on you while you're running. The one I'm hiring doesn't have that but I wish it did!

We just bought a 2nd hand one off gumtree last week. Paid $250 for it and it's great. Barely been used and only a few years old so it's in great condition. Mines a Health****** Gold Series.

You can find some bargains on gumtree-always lots of treadmills for sale. We didn't want to spend a fortune on a brand new one incase we didn't use it often.

Definitely go for a full size not one of those tiny fold up ones as there's not much room on them. Check out what speed it goes up to as well.

I bought one off ebay about 4/5 years ago. The brand is lifespan and it cost about $500. It came with a 5 year warranty but hasn't had any problems. Obviously it's not of gym standard but it does the job. It has built in programs, you can electronically adjust the incline and speed.

In regards to the belt size, you want one that's around 50cm wide and 140cm long. There are some that have a belt as skinny as 40cm.

Can't remember the brand name of mine but we bought it for $150 off of gumtree. It does the job, it's not fancy at all but I tie my Ipad to it and it's like it has a TV screen! Poverty 101!!

    Thanks everyone!

The friend I was asking for has bought one online before waiting for any of the tips and advice, so hopefully they're happy with the one they chose.

    They spent about $600.
