Default NIPT / Harmony Test and Amniocentesis

Hi, just wondering if anyone has had the Harmony or NIPT test where they test the baby's DNA via blood test? Wondering if anyone has then had an amniocentesis following their harmony test and what the results were.
I had the harmony test yesterday and now have to wait the dreaded two weeks for results. My NT scan came back that my Pappa levels were low and this resulted in my risk factor for trisomy 18 being 1:51. I'm freaking out. I'm scared to have an amino due to miscarriage risk as I had a miscarriage last pregnancy.

Any advice or your experiences is appreciated

    Thank you

    Hi @MissFaery

We did the Verifi test (same, but slight different) but haven't gotten my results yet...

That said, when I did my NT test, she only gave me results for downs, and didn't say anything about risk factors for 13 or 18. My next OB appointment isn't for 2 weeks, so now I'm a bit worried.

Have you spoken to your OB / Dr about this? Surely they could give you so info.

    Best of luck.

The harmony test is highly accurate. I would wait for the harmony results to come back. Fingers crossed for you for good news.

@MissFaery I had the 12wk sacn and the NIPT. I would say wait for those results before considering any sort of invasive tests. The NIPT is 99% accurate wih no risk of miscarriage. Papp A results can throw out everything (stats wise) without there necessarily being a problem, and is more common in IVF pregnancies. Sorry your results aren't great. I had a gf get 1:2 for downs and the amnio came back fine - also my NIPT came back in 10 days. Best of luck.

I had a pappa-a of 0.29 and a 1:45 downs risk so had the harmony test. It came back in 10 days with a revised low risk of 1:10,000. Best wishes xx

Just so everyone is aware, NIPS is not a diagnostic test. It's just an indication of odds.

They are great, but not perfect.
