Default Cleaning my Safe N Sound Meridian

    Hi everyone!

After some advice - I'm just about to move my toddler out of her Meridian and into a Maxi Rider so my newborn can go rear facing in the Meridian.

Having been used by DD for 2.5 years, I've cleaned it regularly, but it needs a big clean out before DS starts using it.

Any thoughts on having the covers dry cleaned? Or machine washed? Or hand washed?

I machine wash both the meridian and maxi on a regular basis. Had no dramas doing it this way & makes your whole car smell so nice afterwards!! (Softener smell). Once the covers are off and in the machine I vacuum under the covers & give all the plastic a wipe down. Quite easy to do once you get the hang of it.

Strip the covers, machine wash on cold & dry on clothes line.
Vacumn crumns out of the base and give a wipe with spray n wipe or similar.
    Once dry replace all covers.
If the straps are mucky i wipe down with a bowl of warm soapy water and a face washer

Exactly this, I did it about a month ago before DS arrived and it was very simple and came up like new!

I would steer clear of softener. It destroys the fire retardant properties of the covers. We all hope we don't need it but just in case.

Thanks everyone! Looks like washing, rather than dry cleaning is the way! I'm more of a napisan girl myself so usually steer clear of softeners anyway!

I appreciate you taking the time to respond!

I wash mine in the machine too, but on the gentle cycle and I also pop in a little Eucalyptus oil in the wash to sanitise and make it smell nice as I don't use fabric softener.
