@Emerald26: looking forward to hear your update in the near future!
@Tanej78: good luck on monday! Let's know how it goes.

For the curry paste, don't buy the "vulcan" brand. It is terrible. Mae Ploy (something like that) is the best. It used to full with MSG and preservative, which turned me off from buying. However, i saw it changed its label to no MSG and no preservative the other day. Good idea. i'll try the curry paste idea with fish cake. I'm so tired of my current diet and i miss spicy food!

Book says that bub runs out of room at 32w. OB said that most people will feel super tight and bub in fixed position by 36w but i probably would feel that by 34w given me being a small build. I really hope that bub is getting the genetic from the other person for the height. I hate being short! DH is quite tall. Haha....minib, does your DH stick out in your family photo?

My cousins who gave birth recently all have baby less than 3kg. I don't know what to expect.......hopefully, minib you have the bub in between. 4kg is huge!

I ended up getting the flu vaccine. DH has never had flu vaccine in his life and he is not a fan of it but he got it at the same time with the whooping cough vaccine at the GP office. No excuse for me not to get it then. Apparently the one for pregnant women only contains 3 strains. The latest one contains 4 strains, which DH was given.

On a separated topic, anyone has a remedy for long lasting cough? DH got a nasty cold twice in a roll during his business trips to sydney more than a month ago. He is still coughing on and off. No sign of easing. I don't want him to near bub if this is the case. That would be a horrible thing to do!!!

@bbhope don't you eat spicy food now?

Yeah DH sticks out in all family photo. Wedding photo looks funny too haha. He must get sore neck talking to me cos it's so far down for him haha.

Could you try honey, lemon and hot water for he cough? I do that sometimes when I don't want to keep taking cough medicine.
@Gelati I feel lots of kicks now. Honestly, I was waiting for those kicks where I could see leg or arm sticking out in my tummy but maybe that doesn't happen all the time. I could feel lots and even. DH could feel when he put his hand on my tummy. This baby is active at night. It's like she's having a party in my tummy constantly kicking but quiet in the morning. Does that mean this is her routine when she's born? Noooooooo!

Hey do you girls read the save our sleep book? I was going to buy but have heard mixed review about it. The one that people recommend and have nothing bad to say about it was actually a sleeping school. There's an awesome one in balaclava apparently, part of a private hospital.

@bbhope i didn't get the flu vaccine. I've never gotten it before so i thot i won't get it this time. But i did get the whooping cough vaccine. it was quite painful actually. My arm felt bruised for 2 days.

Oh coughs are the worst to try and get rid of. Like minib said, try lemon and honey, otherwise i have soothers just to calm it down or cough syrup just before bed so i can sleep but there's not much you can take for a cough unfortunately. Just need to ride it out. It doesn't mean DH is infectious, just means there's a lingering cough that takes ages to go away. Could it also be hayfever? some of my friends thot they had a cough but it ended up being hayfever.
@Minib - so great hearing that you are feeling kicks a lot now It must make up for not seeing bub on an ultrasound with OB hehe. Always reassuring when we feel them kick. I haven't actually seen a foot or a hand yet. Maybe cos i have a front placenta? I do feel things stick out tho, not sure if it's a hand or a foot and then when i poke at it he pulls it back it. lol. I hope bub stays in the head down position but i still feel like he's moving around. Sometimes i feel kicks to the side now.

I've not read up on any books to do with sleeping but definitely up for any books or classes that are well recommended. Altho i heard the first 3 months are the worst....i guess the first month is horrible as bub wakes up every 1.5 - 2.5 hrs for feeding. eek!!! Guess that's why breast feeding is best during this period because you don't have to worry about cleaning/preparing bottles as i heard once you're finished the baby is up again.

Default Day 5 blasto FET on day 4?

@Minib: grr. Hit reply too fast. this diet hardly has any spicy component to it. I buy lunch. The only place that sells basmati rice and veges and meats normally doesn't have anything spicy. If they do, like curry chicken, it isn't spicy at all. At night, I cook something quickly. Boiled veges and meat. Or stir fry. I hardly cook spicy food at home except when I cook curry. So no eat out, less spicy food.

Glad that u r feeling a lot of kicks. No I don't think bub will stay with that pattern until after 30w when they brain is more developed. That's what I read. Who knows. @Gelati: I didn't know that you have anterior placenta too! I haven't seen bub foot or hand just yet. Like you, I can feel him dangling his foot at one spot sometime. I can feel his bum up high, though (I think). Sometime it amazes me how far he can stretch all the way to the left and right. When I leaned on one side, sometime I could feel his leg pushed as he tried to keep the balance! This must be the moment when I could potentially see his foot print sticking out but couldn't because I was pressing on that side and was trying to sleep.

Normally, he is pretty good at night. He drove me nut some night but that's mainly because DH woke him up with the cough or I tried to side sleeping and he hates it. He still thinks I am taking up his space or squashing him. Lol. Actually, I feel a bit painful sometime when I turn from the left to the right too quickly in bed. It must be his weight pressing my organs and the motion was too fast for my body to adjust.

No, I don't know about the book you mentioned. I mainly read pregnancy books. Hmmm...does your ladies DH read them? Mine is not exactly interested. He only hears the "update" from me.

For the cough, thanks ladies. I am not sure why it takes so long for him to recover this time. He was doing the lemon honey cough drop and cough syrup for sometime and now he stopped. Hmm... Will see if he has hay fever.

@bbhope yep i have a front placenta too. Good thing is that the kicks aren't painful and they don't wake me up in the middle of the night. But bad thing is i don't think i'd see a foot or a hand. How do you feel where the bum is? i can only feel the kicks. The hands don't feel as strong and they are down below.

I have pain too now when i turn too quickly or move to quickly. Shooting pain. Not fun. I also get legs cramps but not sure if it's because i'm further along or i haven't been as vigilant with my stretching and yoga. Need to be better with it.
Hehe can't believe bub wakes up if your dh coughs :P I can feel mine if i move at night but it's nothing too bad. I always sleep on my side now and bub always wriggles and moves but i think he's just getting comfortable cos he stops after awhile. I now sleep with a pillow between my legs too. I couldn't sleep and tried this and now i sleep like a baby

I'm still reading my first pregnancy book. Still got 1/3 left but i DH will read it once i'm done. I need him to be aware of what support i will need. He'll be the main one i'll be relying on so i need him informed! hehe. You should tell DH that you will need his support and he can't give it if he doesn't know what works

@Gelati: If I move my hand from below belly button all the way up to my rib cage, i can feel a bump high up. It depends on where bub is positioned, though. I only started to notice it after OB told me that bub is head down. Also, I know bub likes to lean on my right side but couldn't get a sense of where his foot are. Last week, I asked OB again because I could feel him leaning on the right again. He told me that his back was leaning on the right and his head facing the left and his foot curve around just above my belly button to the left. Like a C shape. It explained why i felt the kicks on that particular spot on the left. Most of the rolling movement apparently is bub rubbing his bum on my belly when he is in posterior position. I can never feel his head. I find it funny that i am rubbing my upper belly all the time and it is his bum rather than his head. Next time when you get a scan, ask the sonographer where the bub is positioned.

ps: i am thinking to buy protect a bed for the cot for a change. which version did you end up buying @Gelati? They are so many of them. From the description, all of them can be used directly without another layer of fitted sheet?

Oh ok. I tried it but I don't think I can feel anything. I'll see if OB will tell me next time. I still feel kicks high up but if I lie on my side I feel them to the side so I think he still rolls around. Surprisingly I sleep better on my right side. Even tho they said left is best but I feel breathless when on my left. So now I stay on my right. Whatever gets me some sleep at night. Haha.

I got the cotton feeling one, not Terri towel as it seemed thinner. I'll be using a sheet as well. I bought some flanelette sheets as well but now wonderig if they will be too warm. I can always use them in winter next year.
