@bbhope croissant has sugar. I've looked up the recipe once.

Yeah salmon can smell quite strong. I haven't like salmon as much since I'm pregnant. In fact I couldn't eat it in first 17 weeks. Fish oil isn't as good. Need the actual fish otherwise not absorbed. That's What my ob told me. A friend also told me go be very careful about fish oil as some can have high mercury. How about sardines? That had very high omega 3. Even canned one is fine. Fresh ones can be hard to find.

My next appt is next week. 24 week appt. it will be the same check I think. Bp, baby position, heartbeat, tummy size. Not sure what else.

I take 5 vit d, elevit and caltrate everyday for supplements. I eat fish 2-3 times a week because ob said fish oil isn't going to work during pregnancy.

Can you get a smaller avocado and eat half in the morning and tell DH to eat the other half?

I bought the one without the mercury. It says on the bottle that they processed it out. Who knows. Oh...i really hope that my body absorbed some! Otherwise, bub didn't get any. I only had one canned sardine so far. I The problem with canned fish is that they don't label where they source them. Anyway, I'll try to eat more fish now. Hehe...will push DH to eat more avocado.

It must be exciting to see the OB again.

@Minib - yeh i know i need to be careful. It's so hard to stop myself doing things tho. So used to doing things myself and now i can't and it feels like you lose your independence a bit cos you need to get others to do stuff for you. I still climbed on a stool today to put something on a top shelf. I know, naughty. But i was extra careful! hahaha. I needed to clean out the room and there's never enough time on the weekends. Almost done with the cleaning...still a little bit left.

I ballooned out heaps in those 8 weeks so watch out minib! hehe. But funnily enough i weight myself today and i've only put on 1.3 kg since i last weighed myself. So now at 31 weeks i have put on a total of 13kg which is not too bad. Wonder how that works? Will ask OB if it's normal. My belly is still growing normally tho but not putting on the kgs. Oh well not complaining lol. Maybe being good on my diet is helping? or maybe bub did a lot of growing in the first 26 weeks.....
@bbhope - croissant has quite a lot of sugar i think. Have you tried omelette or boiled egg? that has lots of protein and is low in sugar. Also you could try frying up a small chicken fillet in the morning and have it with tomato and avocado and cucmber. I know it takes a bit more effort tho. Hoepfully if they put you on insulin it means you can start eating a bit more normally again.

You don't have to eat salmon....can always eat white fish that is low in mercury like barramundi or snapper. I'm sure it will keep you full too. I snack on walnuts (even tho i hate it) but it seems to keep the hunger at bay.

Oh wow so he has a pattern with his hiccups? hehe, yes maybe he will be a very fast eater! The only pattern i feel is kicks when i'm eating. I haven't really felt him hiccup that much....maybe once a day or every second day?

So i know i recommended protect a bed waterproof mattress protector but unfortunately my bassinet is too big for it so had to buy another brand. I just got one that is 100% cotton. The lady at baby bunting said they are just as good. Guess i didn't really have a choice. The one for the cot just fit. I think it was about 2cm off. I bought some towels from baby bunting today on sale...i wanted the bubba blue ones but they were a bit expensive even on sale. lol.

@Emerald26 that's great about this week's results. All the best for next week hun, sending you lots of positive thoughts. So far so good

@Minib - i only eat one proper fish meal a week (salmon). I have some tuna throughout the week but cos it's canned i don't think it's as good. Hope i'm geting enough omega 3. I eat walnuts everyday apparently they have omega 3 too so hope i'm getting enough. My BT results showed i was ok for vit d so haven't taken supplements. And i'm not always regular with my elevit. Naughty i know...i didn't have one today .....

@Gelati: OK, i stopped eating the croissant from the cafe. No, i won't have time to fry up some chicken fillets in the morning. I always grab the breakfast and finish it off in my office < 15 mins (close the door, of course). That's the only meal that i eat quickly. DH always has to wait for me to get ready so i feel bad if he has to wait for me to eat my breakfast! He also has simple breakfast. Yes, i can have eggs. The instruction is 2 eggs + 1 Bergen bread. That's it! I tried but the reading is still off. If i only eat omelette, then my reading is fine. It is the carb that causes the problem and i am told many times that I aint' supposed to cut it all out. Frustrated. Strange thing is that when i have a bit of basmati rice for lunch, my reading is OK.

Bub doesn't care about meal time. He goes by the clock. Hehe..... like DH. If only he is like that after he is born, life would be much easier. LOL. There were nights that both of us don't get sleep, though. Both of us were uncomfortable with the sleep position.

I don't know what he does when he wakes up. Perhaps trying to "eat"? Within few minutes, he starts hiccuping. He is doing it 4x a day! That's a lot. Opoosite to his mummy who is a super slow eater!

My friend gave me the bubba blue bath towel. It is very soft and i can recommend it. The cheaper one from ToyRus isn't even that soft. Oh...i think i will be looking into different type of mattress protector. I bought a bubba blue bamboo waterproof one. It is 2cm short. Since the depth is deeper than the mattress, it fits overall. I am not sure i like it that much because the bottom waterproof layer seems like plastic. I am considering a different one.
@Emerald26: good luck for the scan next week!!!

good work @bbhope. i had them in my first trimester so i know it's tough to let go of the nice food. Why is everything that taste nice bad for you? lol

oh yeh the ones from toys r us were terrible. Quite hard and that's before washing them. I didn't end up buying them cos i thot they were worse than adult towels you can get. I ended up buying a different brand from bubba blue but it was still bamboo material so quite soft. Just a bit cheaper. I have one bubba blue one i got on sale at that warehouse place so hoping to maybe get a few more when it pops up near me again.

Yeh i feel like all the waterproof mattresses have a plasticy layer. But my friend said it's fine, she just used one from target. Maybe we are over thinking it? This one seems soft enough so i'll see how i go. I've still got the protect a bed one for the cot just not for the bassinet or the pram. It's hard that they don't make them all the same size. I wish they did! Would make life a lot easier!

That's so good bub is kicking with a pattern. I've heard he will stick with that pattern once he's born too. Mine doesn't really have a pattern i don't think. I've not really been monitoring it but i just feel like he kicks when he wants to. I'm just making sure he kicks at least 10 times every 2 hrs or something close to that anyways.

Maybe your reading at lunch is better cos you are walking around and burning off the sugar whereas at the start of the day you haven't yet? I would be full if i had 2 eggs, i wouldn't need bread after that. Could you maybe just have a couple of celery sticks or carrot sticks if you are still hungry after 2 eggs? or maybe not eat anything and save it for morning tea and have a snack of vita wheat or a piece of fruit? Can you have cheese or does it make you go over too? You poor thing tho....it trully sux to have to keep monitoring and eat like a rabbit.

@Emerald26 good to hear things are tracking well. Good luck with the scan next week.
@Gelati @bbhope I make my own fish cake sometimes. This way you can't smell the salmon. Although it has thai red curry paste which isn't super healthy. I put salmon fillet, a bit of curry paste, kafir lime leaves, egg, pepper, chilli, then blend them and pan fry them. I make my own dipping sauce too. You can find the recipe online. I have it with salad or veggies. No carb. It's quite filling. Or I will have grilled teriyaki salmon with soba noodles. If I'm lazy, steam salmon with lots of ginger is the easiest one.
@bbhope I think basmati is not bad. If your reading is fine after it, maybe have that instead? I also wish I can be bothered making omelette in the morning but I'm just lazy. I have an avocado, tomato and cheese wrap or cereal for breakfast. For morning tea, a fruit and some walnut.
@Gelati walnut is meant to have very high in omega 3. Not my fav nuts so I mixed some almond, cashew and macadamia for flavours lol.

I haven't bought any mattress protector or towel yet. @Gelati let me know if you see another warehouse sale for bubba blue.

I have no doubt I will balloon up @Gelati I'm already feeling uncomfortable. Imagine when I'm 30 weeks lol. I've put on 7 kgs so far in almost 24 weeks. It's average weight gain I think for my original weight. I checked it on ******* lol.

It's good to see you haven't gained as much weight in the last few weeks @Gelati must be your healthy diet. I'm now only 4 weeks away from gd test. Feeling nervous.

I am gaining about 12kg. Strange. @Gelati: you said that you are very big? I am pretty small and now wondering where all my weight goes? I just ran into a lady who is due at the end of Oct. Ya, comparing to her, I am on a pretty small size. Anyway, OB is checking it every other week. As long as it is normal, i am fine with that. Maybe easy to push. LOL. I am a small build anyway. Bub has been staying at 50 percentile since 20w. @Minib: fishcake...perhaps i can try. I need to be creative and thanks for the idea.
