Default Day 5 blasto FET on day 4??

    Hi ladies

I am with monash Ivf and will be having a frozen transfer next week. I have a hatching blastocyst which I've been told should be transferred on day 5 but as the clinic is not open in a Sunday they have said that if day 5 falls on a Sunday they will transfer on day 4 instead and that there's no problem. Has anyone had this happen before and does it really not make a difference? It just sounds a bit suss to me as timing is clearly very important but suddenly transferring a whole day earlier isn't an issue?? If that was the case why don't they just transfer them all a day earlier?

    Thanks!! Xx

Hi Gelati, sorry cant help too much with the timing issue, I should be doing my 1st FET next month after a freeze all cycle before Christmas. My clinic also don't open on a Sunday and from previous experience they wouldn't make the exception for an issue like this which is quite annoying as you want everything to be 100% perfect when you are going through this. They must really think that it shouldn't be an issue though as I am sure they wouldn't waste an embryo. I would be asking lots of questions though to make sure you are happy before you go ahead - good luck hope this is the cycle for you.

@Heyside, sorry I only just saw this message. How are you going? I ended up having my FEt on a fri as ovulation didn't come when we expected. I hope your transfer doesnt land on a Sunday but if so just ask lots of questions and if you are still not convinced defer tO next month. That was my plan. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable with what is going on. Xx

Glad all worked out hun, have you tested for the cycle yet? Did you get your bfp? I think you are right its very important that we feel comfortable with everything that is going on and I will be questioning things if I am not happy x

That's great news hun, are you on any booster injections like pregnyl or are you confident this is a true bfp? Really hoping it is hun and you get amazing results from your beta tomorrow - good luck . I am only at the start of my FET at the moment, currently stimulating and going in for my first scan on Wednesday.

Oh I bet that was nice having a none medicated cycle, I have no choice unfortunately due to my PCOS and non existent cycle will be asking for trigger as well just to make sure I ovulate. You can feel pretty confident that your bfp is for real then - congratulations hun great news! Cant wait to hear your numbers tomorrow. My fn has based my cycle on a previous cycle on the same dose of medication where I triggered ovulation on Cd15 and I am currently on Cd8 so aiming for trigger next Monday.

Yeh really glad I didn't have to do more shots as I'm scared of needles. Had to get Dh to do them in oct. if he wasnt able to do it I don't think I could do Ivf. I just couldn't jab myself!
Medicated FET will be a lot easier in your body too right? No EPU. That was a horrid experience!
Thanks hun. Trying not to get too excited on case it doesn't work out. This journey has certainly made me a pessimist!

Not long till ur in the 2ww! Will be cheering you on

I think I can do the injections in my sleep now lol after 9 cycles of OI and 2 IVF rounds lol, however I am nervous as I am using clexane injections this cycle and I have heard they can be quite painful. Great that your DH was able to do your injections for you though hun a shared experience lol! This cycle should be a lot better for me yes with no EPU and we are only trying for one or two follicles so shouldn't be too bloated either. Good luck for tomorrow will be waiting to hear.
