    Default Adult adenoidectomy

I went to a E.N.T on Tuesday due to years of ongoing sinus and ear problems where he discovered I not only still had my adenoids but the were horribly infected (one of the worst cases he has seen according to him) so I had them out yesterday and my throat hasn't been as sore as I thought it would be, don't get me wrong it hurts but I can handle soft sandwiches. What is really getting to me is the horrid headache I have had, it is so bad that even strong painkillers isn't dulling it. Can anyone tell me if this is normal? And when I can expect it to settle down?

    Default Adult adenoidectomy

Could it be a side effect of the anaesthetic maybe?

I had my tonsils and adenoids out at 14 and don't recall a headache.

I would probably give your ENT a call just to be sure. 3 of my daughters have had adenoids out (plus other ent procedures) and none of them had a headache after but children recover easier to all these procedures too.

Thanks for the responses, I would have replied earlier but I haven't had much energy. Called the dr and a headache can be normal and given that I have started to come down with DS2's headcold it will more then likely cause more discomfort and slower healing time

Yep, I have spent the day exhausted and in a lot of pain. Went back to the Dr and if I am no better in 2 days they will admit me into hospital for a antibiotic iv and possibly exploratory look at the surgical area
