I thought the male name was
    Gabe-riel and the feminine was
Gab-riel? I could be wrong though!

I love both those names by the way OP

I would probably say Lewis, because I know one, but I would immediately doubt my pronunciation and ask how to say it!

I would say Gabe riel, Gab rielle is the female version.

I don't like Paddy and Addy.

I knew a boy in school which was called Paddy. But we always called him by his whole name so Paddy G_____

Also do you think it would be silly to name a boy Patrick given we have a girl named Adelaide (nickname Addie). Do people always nickname Patrick, Paddy? Paddy and Addie! Arrgh.
Lou-ee... because "Lewis" is a completely different name.
Gabe-ri-el.... Gab-ri-el, is the feminine form Gabrielle.

My friend, Patrick, is nicknamed Rick... his parents hate 'Paddy', so squashed that by calling him Rick all his life and letting him know it was short for his name.
