    I have Alva AI2 & pockets.
AI2 - you still have to stuff but the insert snaps into the pocket. They have a double gusset for poo catching.
Pockets - just stuff & go.
I prefer the basic pocket style, too many snaps give me the willies lol!
I bought bamboo inserts from Alva, I've heard their bamboo charcoal ones are good going to try those next.

As for poo, We've not had a leak yet. Exclusive BF poo I scraped into toilet with a cake scraper I kept in the toilet, didn't rinse, just washed every second day. Once DD started solids she started doing rolling poos, just flick solids into toilet & wash every second day. Although not all baby's do solid poops I'm told!

With the Alva I stuff the pocket with microfibre closest to baby's skin as it absorbs faster, then bamboo underneath as it is slower to absorb but holds more.
    The minky are my favourite!

I loved pockets. I found snaps in would leak too readily with ds. And I would go with bamboo. While I love BBHs they are a bit pricey. I have one hippybottomus which I absolutely love! Its trim fitting, absorbant and reasonably priced. Oh and it dries quickly.

If you are happy with second hand, and want to try different kinds, look at Gumtree or Ebay for bulk lots of MCNs. Other parents have usually tried a few brands too, and you can just ride the coat tails of their shopping around! Gumtree is better, cos you can choose ones close to home, pick them up, and not pay postage.

You can get ones that have barely been used. I did this... but haven't quite worked my way up to trying them yet, and may well sell them on in due course, washed again, but unused :-)

Hippybottomus is my fave CC. It fits far better than my baby beehinds.
