    Default bleeding scar after caesarean?

I had a caesarean one week ago and was doing fine until i started bleeding from my scar two days ago. i have been to docs and he said everything looked ok its just old blood weeping out. He said it was also quite common yet no one i know who has had a caesarean has had this happen. Im just concerned because its quite a lot of blood.

Anyone else been through this? Would like to put my mind at ease.

    Hi Rachel,

I had a couple of bleeds with my scar before I left the hospital.... one of my staples on my right side nearly came out....

Also about a week after bubs was born I had A LOT of blood tinged fluid escape from my scar... soaked a couple of pads within about half and hour and continued to weep for a couple of days, was told it was normal too....

The outer scar you see is only the superficial wound.... your uterus is all stitched up tight inside.... I'm sure all is fine, but I know how worrying it can appear!

    Hi Rachel,

It's prob nothing, but I would just get it checked by your Ob just to be on the safe side. I personally didn't experience any bleeding from my scar but was told that if I did, to call my Ob.

I have experienced a small amount of bleeding on my scar occasionally since my c/s 6 weeks ago. Apparently my body is rejecting the sutures and therefore having a reaction. My ob thinks it will settle itself down soon.
Good luck and I hope it heals quickly for you.

I've had 2 c-secs and both times I never had any bleeding from my wound. If its bothering you see if you can get a second opinion.

I'm sure it's ok but it doesn't hurt to check

I had my c- section 9 wks ago. My ob put a sticky dressing on it . Looked like sticky tape.... I left it on till 8 wks. That way i didn't see any bleeding or anything only the totally healed scar. Blood makes me feel sick. I found it was quite supportive..by leaving it on. I was also wearing very supportive underwear the type your mother would wear to hold in the flab. The physio lady said it would help the muscles to heal quicker and stop that buldge happenening at the bottom of my tummy.
