Well had a crack at it today and pretty happy with how they turned out. I managed to make 3 fitted/flat bassinet sheet sets The last time I really sewed was about 20 years ago in school

Just finished these for Possum. I couldn't find a skirt with a knit waist band pattern so I made it up. Now to wait for her to wake up to try it on!

I found a bit of motivation and my daughter was distracted so I have spent this afternoon printing and taping together patterns and now cutting out 2 pairs of shorts (God the hours all of that takes!). Apparently they're a quick sew so hopefully I'll have a photo of two pairs of shorts to upload later!

3 hours of sewing (and dinner in between) and here we are with two pairs of shorts! they really are super quick.

You ladies are so talented! I can do basic sewing like hemming pants but I struggle following patterns.

Could anyone here tell me if there is a big difference in sewing machines from say 30 year ago and today? I have my mums old Elna sewing machine. It's a bit heavy and clunky, I'm not sure if it would be worth it to buy a newer machine or if they're all pretty much the same.

@Mama Mirabelle my mums machine is probably a similar age and when she got it services recently, the guy told her how much better made they were back then and that they're much better than today's machines. I would believe it, considering there aren't many household appliances made today that will still be working in 30 years! So I'd say the one you've got is great, may just need a service if it hasn't been used in a while.
