My mother is a great sewer and my grandmother was a seamstress when she was young, seemed to skip a generation with me lol...but I am almost 35 weeks with my third daughter, so I want to be able to make my girls nice stuff.

I'm not actually that good a sewer, but I love doing it so I just keep trying new things. Lots of patterns for pretty girls things are quite easy once you get the hang of it!

I'm the same, I think sewing these days is made much easier by Facebook groups / forums where you can ask questions or see a demo of a certain thing on you tube (I learnt how to do French seams from a YouTube demo recently!).

Yep, lots of the patterns you can buy or find online come with tutorials so it's much easier than I think it used to be! I used to have a hell of a time following my mum's patterns but the ones I've got now aren't hard to follow.

I can't wait for my dd to be older so I can teach her to sew. Will also teach ds if he is interested.
I am not a great sewer and been pretty slack with it lately.
Still got a few years to go as dd is only 6 yo.

Not a great photo, but just finished this for DD. Might be a bit big, but should last a little while. ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1455271520.498277.jpg

Just whipped up this pair of harems for my little miss. I'm proud of how much faster my sewing is getting, I cut them out last night and they took me about 2 hours to sew. The ankles look uneven in the photo but they're not in real life 😊ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1457527085.586060.jpg
