DH bought me a sewing machine for Christmas, I learnt to sew from my mum and at high school in Home Ec, but that was 15 years ago and I haven't done any since.

My mum helped me make this dress over Christmas as she'd already cut it out for one of my DDs and she gave me a refresher course.

I also made a little pillow case dress for my other DD2, will have to find that photo. That wasn't with a pattern and I messed the arm holes up but then once home made one for DD1 and got the arms right but it was too tight, LOL.

Then I made these without a pattern. ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1421396505.118798.jpgImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1421396525.173348.jpgImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1421396555.023810.jpg

And finally, I bought a pattern (they are expensive) and made these this week. Still learning about bias tape and the gathers, but I think they turned out okay.

I have bought heaps of fabric this week in online sales, and now I just need some more things to make.

I also want to make some cushion covers.

That's all so cute! I love the skirts.

I've been looking at fabrics online, the ones I want are on the expensive side so I'm umm-ing and ahh-ing about it before actually buying. I suppose if I'm actually going to do something with it it will be worth it, right?

This may have already been answered but how do you print off a pattern once downloaded from Etsy.

DD1 is also having a Sophia the First party in February and I was thinking of trying to make clips, but I just thought that little scrunchies for the girls would be super cute and easy!

They're designed to be printed off on A4 paper from your normal printer, then you just cut out the bits in the size you want & tape them together.

I recommend tracing and keeping your original so you don't have to print each size I trace onto home brand baking paper(it's crap baking paper but ripper for patterns lol) I store mine in file folders but if anyone has better ways I'm so keen to see! Mine are getting messy lol.
