I bought a 3 dollar beanie from big w for my youngest dd. I needed to spruce it up though as it was very boring

Ladies I have s question!! I'm very much new to sewing and recently got given a sewing machine, I've started making a baby best for a friends baby shower.
I've seen my two fabrics together and I have to put bias tape around the whole thing to put drawstring through.
So my question is can I sew the bias tape straight on top of both my fabrics or can I not anymore? Thanks! ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1431311978.931536.jpgImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1431312032.325599.jpg

I made this Bub a custom activity mat. I'm pretty chuffed with my efforts. The toys are all handmade and I even recovered the mirror

    Wow, these are awesome!

I can't wait until I find out what this next Bub is going to be - so I can make everything for him/her!

    Thanks.

I was the same but I've had to step away from my sewing room because I was sending myself insane with so many projects floating around my head. I have half finished projects all over the floor because I just get too ahead of myself and think everything needs to be done yesterday. DH goes away for work for a week tomorrow so i'll have some guilt free sewing time to get some floor space back (read: projects completed).

That'll be good, don't forget to share!

I'm on a sewing hiatus at the moment since we're packing up the house to move soon, so once we're in the new house (where I get my own sewing room!) there'll be no stopping me

Are you following a pattern or tutorial at all? Usually, bias tape goes over the raw edges of a seam but I can see that you've stitched and turned the seams with that. I'm not entirely sure what it is you're making either or I'd have a better idea. Sorry, probably not much help

My Ottobre magazine arrived last week. Now I just have to wait until I have some spare time away from the uni books to be able to get some sewing done. I'm loving all the patterns in it but will likely only make the shirt for DS. I just have no one else to sew for and nothing I make sells anymore so don't see the point in making more things.
