Default Video baby monitor recommendations please

    Hi,

can anyone recommend a reliable video baby monitor? I recently invested in a Uniden monitor however it was not compatible with the newest MacBook software!!! Disappointing.

here are the features I am after:

    - price up to approx $250
    - 2 cameras would be preferred, if not then just easy portability of camera to move from room to room.
    - comes with a portable monitor for viewing around the home, but also the ability to turn off the monitor screen and just use as a sound monitor (mainly for night purpose, so we don't have a shining screen light in our face all night)
    - cameras can be accessed remotely from outside the home, via a smartphone/iphone/ipad/ android app
    - temperature monitoring (if available, however not completely necessary)
    - 2 way speak if required/walkie talkie style.
    -night light

does a monitor like this even exist?? Lol!

I know now it seems like I am asking a lot, however the uniden BW31xx series (which I initially purchased) seemed to have all these features however, was not compatible with all Mac systems which was a real let down. Surely my dream monitor it out there!!

I wouldn't have thought there was a camera available that had a portable handset for the house and was accessible via wifi out of the home?
But you said your uniden one does, so maybe there is?
The new Oricim monitors, the 710 I think?, ticks all of your boxes except being able to access it away from home. We have a separate wifi camera for that purpose

Exactly this. I have the oricom 710 and it does all these things except the outside monitoring.

I just looked at the uniden monitors. Which one do you have?
It says you can access it via skype on your iphone. Is that not working for you?

Hi, yes uniden digital wireless baby video monitor does all of the above however is not compatible with the newer versions on mac software (our macbook is 2 years old and it is not compatible) if you have windows or older versions of Mac system software it can actually do all of the above. The system I invested in was the Uniden version BW3102.

I will look into Oricom but surely if Uniden have a system that does it all (including remote access) there must be another out there that is compatible with a 2 yo Mac 🙏😃
