They supposedly have one hostage. Police is trying to establish contact and negotiate.

They want to die as martyrs as that's when they go to heaven/paradise and get their 18 virgins. What a load of ....

Or was he not an actual attacker but somehow connected and trying to avoid being in deeper trouble by coming forward? Sorry, I'll google all of this, it just doesn't normally happen. Even the second Boston bomber who was quite young was captured 'kicking and screaming.'

Definitely hope they're all caught alive, I get so sick of all these people (terrorists, mass shooters, etc) killing themselves and never having to answer for themselves.
At first, when reports of the Charlie hebdo came out, they mentioned 3 gunmen. After a while a name emerged on twitter as one of the 3 gunmen. Turned out this dude was at school at the time, so he turned himself in later that night after seeing his name everywhere in the media etc.
    His name got cleared.

It was a major journo brain fart..

That's what makes them so scary, they have absolutely no fear of their own death, it's embraced with some believing that when a man dies as a matyr for Islam he will be guaranteed a place in heaven with 72 virgins (or raisins, depending on the interpretation!).

It does make me giggle a little bit to think of all these men sitting around paradise staring at a pile of 72 raisins with a dumb founded expression, looking at each other and going WTF?

Yes their stupidity is the biggest danger!!
They are a lot of young French people who left for Syria. They were not even Muslim, they don't even speak the language, they had no interest in politics and somehow all of a sudden they agree to convert to Islam and go die for a cause that's not theirs because they'll go to heaven and get 72 virgins?!
So stupid! And the French female who leaves to go get married to a jihadist are even dumber.

So there is now another hostage situation in Paris. Another gunman, linked to the first two, who killed a police woman yesterday, has taken at least 5 hostages (incl women and kids) in a bakery

I always thought 72 virgins was a little odd. Wouldn't it be preferable to have 72 women who *ahem* 'have lots of notches in their bed heads' and not terribly fussy?
