They have been receiving threatening letters and phone calls for years...

I'm very glad they never stopped and thy won't stop anytime soon. If anything they grew stronger, with other newspapers publishing their drawings.

If journalists were to stop doing their job because of threats we would stop being informed.

And by the same token you might as well convert to Islam now as these terrorists are promising violent deaths to all non muslim people.
So converting to Islam seems like the logical thing to do.

No, the didn't lose their lives because of a cartoon. They lost their lives because of people who wish to deny everyone else freedom of thought and speech.

I think the racial tolerance issue is being discussed because there are more tensions in France than other areas. I hears in the news today that France was always deemed the most likely target in Europe for a terrorist attack like that because it has the highest number of Muslim residents, many of whom are disenfranchised. And there's the While Burqa ban.

Not that anything excuses the actions of the terrorists. It doesn't. ******** ********. I feel for the families of the victims, especially the poor policemen. Thinking of Our French hubbers too . Xx

One of the policemen was a French muslim actually.
The killers shot him cause he was trying to stop their escape. He fell on the ground and one of the killer stopped his escape, turned back and shot him in the face when he was not representing any danger to them anymore.
