Default Shocked. They attacked and killed 11ppl at a newspaper office in Paris

Actually, I think part of the solution is to stop marginalising all Muslims and maybe they won't feel isolated.

I deleted 2 people today off my Facebook for posting "close the borders" meme and ban the burqa posts. I bet they don't know any Muslims themselves.

It's scary and it's awful but I think we all need to keep this in mind:

Exactly. These are radical extremists pushing their own ideology. They do not represent muslims at all.

They are just terrorists. I don't care about their ethnicity, religion or citizenship.

They got a wide media coverage which is all they want/need.

France has been participating in airstrikes in Syria for a few weeks now.

The west is the only part of the world that calls this group ISIS. The middle east uses the term Daesh, which means "one who crushes underfoot". It completely delegitimises them and they HATE it. They self proclaim themselves Islamic State, but other muslims only see them as fanatics. World leaders have only just started using the term Daesh. I'm personally skeptical that the western media will catch onto this, though. A lot of them love creating the discourse and encouraging ignorance.

Part of the reason Daesh (like i said part of the reason) are doing these attacks is to encourage the hatred of muslims in the west try to a gain more on their side. And the thing is, every attack HAS made the situation worse...along with the airstrikes.

It's a scary situation. It's scary for those in the middle east and africa, too.

I agree, I always thought it was so wrong to call them Islamic State. It's not a state and they shouldn't be linked to Islam either.

However I'm quite positive that the western media are already catching onto this. Our european politicians have already started to stop calling them ISIS. It will catch up.

My worst fear is that the far-right will win the next election in France. That's is all DAESH want... Ostracised minorities so that they come grow their ranks
