Just a heads up about transfer, nurse on the phone (Tracey) told me I didnt need a full bladder for embryo transfer, then I get to transfer and was advised we need a full bladder. I had to skull a 800ml bottle of water waiting for my name to be called. Thats my only breakdown Ive experienced..

Thanks for that @Billie2. I read in the pamphlets that they need an empty bladder, but I thinks for EPU... Wonder if the nurse got confused?

@tjuls def an empty belly and bladder for egg collection. I specifically asked about full bladder when I was told fertilisation results and she said no. Then scientists at lab on arrival said we need you to have a full bladder. The whole room was full of women sucking on water bottles.
@Danymatthew congrats on first hearbeat scan. Its a little miracle and pure joy. I guess thats what @tjuls and I feel, we know what we are missing out on 2nd time round. Every scan is more exciting. If that is even possible.

Best wishes to all January cyclers..xx

Hi all ! interesting as I was told to pick any time when with Genea and stick to same time so don't know why they would prefer people to do it at night with primary? I found putting an ice pack on the spot for a minute before the injection helped a lot sometimes I didn't even notice my husband had finished ! I hate hate hate needles but I've done it once before so know I can do it again ! I am hoping when I start with primary that I can do mornings as husband does shift work and I work days so this suits us. Just wondering how long the process takes we want to start for our first ICSI cycle with primary in feb. just wondering how long before do you need to make an appointment for testing ect ? Wish you all the best of luck hopefully it's a year of lots of pregnancies !

Hi Clucky! We are in Melbourne so the legislation is a little different here. We are aiming to start in March. We had our first GP appt mid December, had CD 2 and CD 21 bloods and pelvic ultrasound ordered...due to my cycle and Xmas closure etc... I am only just getting tests done now. Will have my CD 21 test next week then can go back for 2nd GP appt after that (can probably get in early Feb). Unfortunately I find it hard to get in as they are so busy and I have to work around my work roster which is a pain. Provided there are no issues we then have to get our child checks and police checks done (even though we only just did them last year with the other clinic we were originally going with) and then have our counselling session before seeing the Fertility Specialist. So you can see for me it's taking a while to get things done but that's the due to work roster, clinic policies and my cycle haha! But I've heard they are really busy in Sydney too so you'd probably want to get the ball rolling now (if you haven't already) if you are wanting to aim for Feb 😊

Thanks for your reply onedaymaybebaby I think I the process first time with a different clinic went fairly fast and I've been silly to assume that with this clinic it be the same. Hubby and j spoke last night and decided todat when clinic opens assuming they are open going to call and make an appointment . I don't know why I am soooo nervous! Just we were so lucky to be blessed with a baby girl first round of ICSI who is 2 now that I am sort of worried it won't be as easy this time but I guess we will just go with it . Wish you the best of luck

@clucky14 I think the sooner u make the 1st apptment the better. In retrospect I'd wish I had started earlier than when I did .. Only because the cycle factor and also because of the apptments. I find the best time to book an apptment is during ur tww. That way u see the gp, get the BT for cd2-5, scans, and cd21, amh etc.. So that by the time af is due to come, (if u are lucky to see the FS on the same day as the 2nd GP) u would be able to start at the nxt cycle..
I think other clinic are faster because they don't have the shuffling of paperwork n BT results from GP to FS.. So u cut out that extra week of waiting.
Good luck..hope u join us for the Feb cycle! @Billie2. U are absolutely right... It feels like its been yonks since I've had a heartbeat scan but oh my.. What I would give to see it again.. Must admit my favourite is the 12week scan, when the baby is formed enough to tell its a baby but too early for the sex determination. Exciting times ahead @Danymatthew @onedaymaybebaby.. Where are u at atm? Are u cycling this month?

Hi Tjules, I so wish that we could get our FS appt the same day as our 2nd GP but as we have different legislation here in VIC we can't do it that way. We have to have all our check and counselling completed first. A bit of a pain but we are hoping to start in March! 😊

@clucky14 I hope you have made an appt this morning!! I highly recommend having a pap smear between now and first appt. They will want that done as well. May as well get the ball rolling. My first GP appt was 1st Oct, and by 10th Dec I had finished my first cycle if IVF/ICSI. So if you get everything done & dont knock back any appt they offer, you should be able to start Feb/March. In saying that its really busy atm, I couldnt get in to see the FS till 18th Jan.
