My DH came to all of the scans, the first two appointments with the dr managing my GD, and the OB appointments until they became more regular (fortnightly, weekly, twice weekly) then he was a bit more sporadic and came to some but not all as they were very routine and I wasn't feeling as anxious in the later stages of pregnancy.

The last couple of weeks of my pregnancy when I was a regular visitor to the pregnancy assessment unit at the hospital he would always leave work and wait there with me. When I think about it now his work was amazingly understanding with all the time out. And I was so glad that he wanted to be so involved.

No, my DH doesn't have that kind of flexibility with work hours.
Was a bit of a bummer when I was told I miscarried and only had my DS1 with me at the time but I managed.
I've had other scares and anxious scans and did them on my own too but I know if I needed him he'd find a way to be there with me.

I don't see the point in having a partner at antenatal visits unless there is something serious that needs to be monitored or big decisions to be made by both parents.
Other than that it's kind of women's business to me.

Mine has come to most appointments, we usually book them when he isn't working to ensure he can attend.

DH has only ever come to the 12 and 20 week scans for all three babies. He has never attended one hospital appointment. I honestly never even thought to ask him to come along to any of them. I've only ever birthed in the public system, but the appointments are so quick and perfunctory I couldn't imagine what he would have gotten out of them. I didn't feel like I needed the support, the check ups are all pretty straight forward because I'm lucky to have straight forward pregnancies.

With the first kid, DH came to the 1st midwife appointment, and came to all my U/S's.
With the 2nd, he came to my last U/S.

I'm pregnant now... DP will more then likely just come to the scans and maybe a couple of midwife appointments.

First appt and 20 week scan only, I was disappointed initially, but in the end I preferred it as I could be a bit more open about some things with the midwife without him listening!
