My DH attended most appointments - all the one's with scans involved.

I went to a couple of the routine Ob check-ups solo.

My husband didn't come to our first sons appointments but after we suffered a late loss, he then came to all of my appointments, scans and monitoring for our next son. I was grateful to have some support rather then being alone.

Only to scans. Having him at every appointment was a waste of time for both of us. Most of it was spent waiting and apart from taking my blood pressure and blood not much else happened that I couldn't just relay to him.

This is our second baby on the way - mine came to my first appointment with the obstetrician (at about 8 weeks) where she did a scan on the machine in her rooms, then came to my 12 week and 20 week scans. Next thing he will attend with me is the birth.

Last time around, he came to those appointments plus maybe 1-2 other check ups - but there was really not much point in him being there for the others.

I try to book my appointments when DH isn't working so he can come. I see an Ob so I have monthly scans and he loves to see the baby. I'm 28 weeks and I think he's missed 1 or 2

Over 9 pregnancy he attended every 20 week scan appointment and any other that he wasn't working. So he didn't go to most appointments. If I asked him to come he did because that was rare event and I was worried about something.

My dh came to the first appointment with the obstetrician, and then just to the scans (12 week, 20 week, 28 week). I go to the obstetrician appointments myself (with my student midwife). The obstetrician usually just checks my blood pressure, does a few other quick checks, asks if I have any questions and I'm out so I don't see the need for dh to come to those. I like him to come to the scans though so he can see the babies

All bar 2 or 3 due to work, I tried to make our appointments the last one for the day as we both worked.

He came to every scan, and from about 34 weeks onwards he made sure he came to every one (mainly with DS1 as we were interstate with no family) and DS2 as they thought I would go early.
