I was worried about after pains as well with my last pregnancy, they were crippling with my first. However I used a herbal tea formulated to have right after the baby comes and I swear, not a single cramp/pain! It was amazing, totally going to have it on tap for every labour. Bought it from "Blissful Herbs" (she sells online) if anyone wants to try.

Sounds awesome! I'm already looking forward to having an aryvedic afterbirth ritual where someone wraps you with cloth and warm oil! I will look into the herbs!

Welcome back shinebrite and congratulations on your pregnancy.

My fourth pregnancy wasn't much different from my third really, but I did have shocking heartburn/indigestion and pubis symphisis dysfunction which was quite ouchy.

But by far and away the worst thing was the 'after birth pains' the 4th time around, gosh they were like labour pains and didn't subside as quickly as the other times. The Midwife told me they generally get worse with each subsequent birth and she was right. I have heard taking Magnesium helps a lot.

My 4th was very different to my previous 3. MS was still bad, but a different feeling of sickness, more refluxy. I also didn't have SPD, DD was 1kg smaller than her brothers which I think contributed to this. I was totally exhausted, though I was chasing around 3 other children doing kinder and school and working part time. I carried differently too, all out front, though not very big. Her birth was different too, three days of pre labor, 4hr birth, the boys were all fast and hard labors and births. After pains sucked this time too....they really did get worse for me, and lasted a bit longer each time.
