Default 3 year olds - Fighting, Tantrums, Disobedience etc

I thought 2 was bad OMG.... 3 is 1000x worse. When does this phase end. The fighting and the bullying and the screaming is wearing us down and causing massive friction and stress. I'm 13 weeks pregnant and I'm just mentally and physically exhausted!!

Yep, 3 is a really challenging age.

My DS was particularly bad shortly after he turned 3 for a couple of months. Since then he's had 'phases' where his behaviour has been really challenging, then he seems to revert to good boy mode again for a while.

He's almost 4 and he's been really good for about a month. All kids are different and present with different challenging behaviours - I've heard that a lot of kids become easier when they get closer to 5. My opinion is that there are challenges at any age and one must simply strap themselves in and do the best they can to survive the wild ride!

OMG my now 3 year old at age 2 was awful. Now she's driving me insane! It's so much worse than 2! Her behaviour is appalling! The constant screaming/crying tantrums, talking back etc and waking like a newborn at night time. I feel like I'm not cut out for this at all! Thank goodness we have only the one child. She tires me out and is making my hair turn grey already!! Lol

We are experimenting with elimination diets and so far we've seen a change. She's still awful but slowly getting there. Thank god.

Is this like a wonder week that lasts the whole year? I hope not!!

I have a friend who called it the terrible twos and the f***ing 3s and now I know why.
I'm guessing this is what it will be like when we have teens?? Except at least now we know where our little ones are and not sneaking out.
So much attitude from a little person is unreal. I do find it amusing at times at the independence coming through but I am holding out until age 4. I love the baby stage, but not so much the toddler stage. Hopefully the preschool age will be good again for a couple of years.

I don't have a three year old yet, although my brain nearly exploded to read that three is harder than two! I just wanted to pop in and say from a teacher perspective that it's very easy to tell the children whose parents have put in the hard yards in the early years in terms of behaviour management, and they certainly reap the rewards as their children get older and are faced with peer pressure and other influences. So, hang in there :-)
