My daughters name is Jovie, and yep it's from the movie 'Elf' but no one ever connects the two!

Your name choice is gorgeous xx

I love that name. I love the book and I would immediately think of it when I hear the name but I don't think that's a bad thing. It is a lovely, classic name.

I really think it completely depends on the `uniqueness' of the name and the saturation level of the movie.

Hazel is a name that existed before the book/movie. A name like `Renesmee' for example will probably always be associated with Twilight. Same as Daenarys (GoT) I've seen the Fault in our Stars but would not link the name Hazel with the movie because it's a name I've known before.

    I think it's a lovely name

I only watched 'Fault in our Stars' last night, so if I heard 'Hazel Grace' today or tomorrow, I would associate it with the movie, only because I watched it last night, but if I hadn't, no way would I associate it with the movie.

Hazel and Grace are such classic and timeless names in their own right and the movie is not a overly commercialised and saturated into the public's mind, so I definitely think you have no worries with naming your daughter that name.

FWIW, Until this thread, I have never heard of the other names mentioned such as Katniss and Reneesme.

I'm guessing you have not read or seen Twilight or The Hunger Games then?

True. I haven't seen either, couldn't even tell you what they're about, much less any of the character's names.
