SIL bested herself this year, though it was hard to beat last year's op shop teddy bear for the girls to share. (And yes she's loaded but mostly because she won't spend a cent). Anyway this year like i say wasn't too bad, a beach towel and wind up toy each. Which i would be perfectly happy with but SIL ruined it - dd7 was showing her what Santa had brought and she cut her off mid sentence with "Too much! Too much!" and walked off. Poor dd7 was just trying to talk to her, she's really shy and spent the next half hour behind the couch Grrr christmas grinch!
I got a miracle whisk from mil. I'm sure it's to make 'frothy milk' for the boys but as that's a special treat for days out it won't be getting used. I think she was really stuck because I didn't tell her what I wanted. Or more to the point she didn't listen when I told her.
Now to make sure I regift rather than donate - knowing my luck she'd buy it back from the op shop for me so I could have two!
Pretty sure MIL regifted me this year. Particularly ugly cake stand. The type you gift to your DIL that stole your son. I tell her every year that I would prefer no presents...she never listens, and i end up with a cupboard full of her bad karma. They also got DF something that i had gotten him a few years ago, which FIL knew because he used them not long ago at our house.
Right when it was all over and done with and we were back to enjoying the thread.... 😒
I havent had a crap gift for a really long time, but from memory for my 18th birthday i got a pair of pants that were home sewn
My DH use to get men's sized singlet and socks from his grandparents as a child- his grandad got it free from work ....
