    Default Biggest Loser/Celeb Slim shakes

Hopefully someone can help… I know that on the back of most shake 'meals' it says do not have while you're pregnant and breastfeeding. Is that because is it bad for you in some way or because it does not create a balanced diet compiling of all of your caloric and nutritional needs?

I ask this because I quite enjoy them in the morning. As I cannot really keep much else down until lunch time, I was hoping I'd be able to consume one of these in the morning so that at least I'm getting something and it would make my stomach feel more comfortable until I can eat normal food.

I am not trying to lose wight - actually, I am tying to have something in my tum!

    Thoughts?

    Thanks is advance!

I'd avoid them and go with the healthy mummy smoothie mix, much better for you and baby

I like the taste of CS but won't have them anymore because they are not nutritionally sound - I agree you're better off making a lovely fresh smoothie made with fruit and Greek yoghurt plus a protein powder that will fill your tummy up x

Yep I'd make your own! So easy and you put whatever you like in them. Ot will be much more nutritious for you.

It depends which one you are having but it can range from not being nutritious enough, or they might have stimulants in them, ir yes not enough calories.

I would also suggest you to have what suits your body this time. Make something healthy and enrich you with essential nutrients.

I know this is an old thread but thought i might add my 2 cents for someone else who reads later. I honestly can't comment on the nutritional value of the shakes because im not a nutritionist but what i can say is the way most of those shakes work is by using chemicals/ingredients that make you feel full. These often leave you bloated and or constipated so i would suggest staying away from them. If you need something in the morning and dont have time or willpower to make a good smoothie with all the bits consider going to your health food shop and getting a balanced pregnant friendly protein and mix it with milk. The one i have happens to be vegan friendly so it could be mixed with water or soy for a vegan too. I use it first thing in the morning before going to gym.
