    Default Hamilton Island accommodation

To those that have been: would you choose reef view apartments or palm bungalows?

We ended up getting a holiday home instead of staying at the resort so can't exactly help with your question. Is this an option for you? When we went it was about the same price but at the holiday home we got heaps more space, a golf buggy was included (better than waiting in the hot sun for the bus), we were still able to use most resort facilities for free, could cook our own food (take the basics with you, everything is really expensive, as is eating out) and DS got his own room. Not sure if that really helps you but enjoy, it is lovely there.

I used to live and work on Hamilton Island and either is fine. Some points to consider is Reef View is more High-rise hotel style accommodation - great views and big bathroom but is starting to look a little old. Palm Bungalows have been recently refurbished and are lovely. They do not have a view like Reef View but do have a small kitchenette which is handy. If I was going for a holiday as a family I would be more inclined with a Palm Bungalow or as previously mentioned a holiday home. Keep in mind if you want to rent a buggy it cost in excess $80 p/day. I hope that helps!

Palm bungalows was lovely. With a baby we really valued the separate bungalows and the kitchenette etc

We are off to hamilton Island in February with two toddlers and are staying at the hibiscus apartments. We are staying in a ground floor 2 bedroom apartment with full kitchen and laundry facilities. It also comes with a 4 seater golf buggy and access to the apartments swimming pools and the resorts pools.
We found that it would be cheaper for us to stay and be semi self catered.
