I'm sorry, but for them to throw that back at parents is a cop out. I'd be mighty peeved. I *am* mighty peeved and my children don't even go there!
Yes, it is causing a lot of ill feelings- even with upper grades, as they would have been through some of it.
I am not a class rep, but oh, to be a fly on that wall... that meeting will be interesting.

You can ask for a meeting for yourself.

I would at the very least write a formal letter back to the principal in response. Ask for a formal response from him/her.

We have met with them over and over. It has been an ongoing issue since DSD was in Kindy- so 5 years now.

Thank you for typing it out. That is really bad! Yes, parents can help out and enhance their learning by helping at home but you shouldn't have to do their job.. How confusing for the children too! I hope their meeting is productive.

That's just crazy!!! Have people mentioned the American spelling in the books they're learning from as being an issue?

@DT75 may I ask is this a public or private school? That whole part about 'agreeing to xyz' when you enrolled your child is bollox as far as I'm concerned.

Um...access to education is a right for all children in Australia. It is the teachers that are expected to provide the education. I feel like drafting an indignant letter!
