I just had my skype consult and he said my tests in 2012 came back with off the chart thyroid antibody screens which he said I have hashimotos disease but no one ever told me that. He also mentioned something about a viper venom test to do with clotting coming back high. Can anyone shed light on this? I'm just to stay on metformin and thyroxine and he is testing for lupus?? I think I'm more frightened now!

Dont be frightened.. can you ask a dr about the results and further testing> Do you have an OB that you could talk to?

Something to do with a viper venom lupus test. He didn't know much about it and said to ask my OB who I have an appt at the end of jan but I have so many questions, I might try and get in sooner. This is all just too much!

And don't panic... Just because you have Lupus Anticoagulant (LA) doesn't mean you have lupus :-)

I hope it all works out.

Thankyou all for your kinds words of support. Today is a good day, I've been busy which has helped.
If my HCG levels were around 100000, I wonder how long it takes for it to drop...can anyone help?

    Hi Bindy,

3 weeks ago today our wonderful baby boy was born sleeping at 18 weeks after his heart suddenly stopped beating. It is the most devastating time for anyone and I am feeling your pain as if it was my own.

Just to help you with a few things you mentioned. I also had my milk come in and was given medication to supress it. Perhaps if you are a long way from your clinic you could visit your gp if it becomes a problem?

My fs has told me I should expect it to take about 2 or so weeks before I no longer have any hcg in my blood and to expect AF approx 6 weeks after my delivery (and D&C for retained placenta). Obviously this varies from person to person. Due to my age and trouble conceiving he has recommended that I start ivf again immediately after AF and that there is no evidence that waiting longer affects fertility rates.

Hope this information helps and my heart is with you. I am heartbroken over losing my baby Lewis but I don't think it can ever hurt as much as the first couple of weeks. My thoughts are with you and just remember you are not alone. Xx

I am so so sorry to hear of your devastating loss, especially after such an intense fertility journey.
Did you get any reasons as to why Lewis was born sleeping? I wonder how long it will take until I hear of our own results. Did you get to meet the beautiful heartfelt team to do a special package for your family?

My breasts are settling now, I'm guessing this happened so early as I had only not long finished BF my daughter the month prior to losing our baby.

The last few days are slowly becoming a little easier to cope. My bleeding is settling and I'm thinking about 'the next pregnancy' fingers crossed we don't need IVF again. We don't plan on waiting as our Dr said the same. The spotting is slowly coming to an end, so fingers crossed my body finds a cycle.

All the very best for your journey, keep in touch xx

So sorry for your loss Bindy, just devastating. I can answer the HCG question, after a miscarriage it takes a really really long time for HCG to drop im afraid. When we lost our little one we weren't very far along and it took a few weeks, others on BUBHUB have had HCG in the 20,000 with a loss and it took from memory closer to 8 weeks... I'm not sure if the d&c will speed the process up though.

Look after yourself, the grief after loss is so intense and I imagine this time of year is going to be especially hard.
    xxhugs
