I might just give them a miss and put them on my list of things for DP to bring to the hospital once I've had bubs

@tazz475 it's a listeria risk due to bacteria but omg I've told DH that he is to bring me a Wendy's hotdog to the hospital as my dinner- I lovee them and miss hotdogs atm too hahah.

Hey Tazz, strangely when pregnant I craved these so bad I once had a meltdown when DP said I shouldn't have it because of listeria.

She let me have it, I just had to ask them to blast it in the microwave.

I don't want to risk it given my mc history, even if it is heated in the microwave. Maybe once I'm a bit further along I'll relax and have one

Yeah it's scary business listeria. Apparently you shouldn't eat any prewashed lettuce either. Including the stuff in fast food burgers etc.

A friend of mine got listeria late in her pregnancy. She was really sick and in the hospital but baby is now 8 and fine.

I blasted the hell out of that hotdog and ate it! But I absolutely understand the anxiety and risks associated. You'd probably eat the hot dog and regret it for weeks. Not worth it!

I had sushi the other day (chucked not fish!) and then absolutely kicked myself for doing it. It was made fresh and I checked with the people at the sushi train that they prepare their rice at the start of service so I know it was probably alright but I still was cross at myself.

Oh Tazz, I remember I wanted everything that was on the no-no list, even if I didn't really care for it much when I wasn't pregnant!

Hot Dogs, Frappes and Soft Serve were my things. DH would always make me up a huge cheese platter with all my favourite blue cheeses and kabana etc as soon as I would have the baby.

When I was pregnant & REALLY wanted a hot dog I would buy them at Woolies & boil the cr*p out of them at home
This is what I do for some reason when I'm pregnant I want hot dogs

If I can't have my brie and prosciutto sandwiches, you can't have hot dogs. That's just the way of the world.

OMG, I AM SO GETTING A BRIE AND PROSCIUTTO SANDWICH IN SIX WEEKS! (Oh, and a baby too, but you know, deli meats and soft cheeses!)
