Why don't you take a course or something, a drawing class, or pottery, or sewing something creative, which can be your time -and you might make some friends

Yep that's something to consider. ...
    To be honest I'm scared.

It is scary. I joined a quilting group - and they had all known each other for years - pretty intimidating. I ended up leaving because I didn't have the time for it with the kids being so young. But I am deffo thinking of getting into something else. I think it is really helpful - especially for us mums - who tend to always put our families first and ourselves last.

I suffer depression and anxiety and for me the anxiety is crippling when it comes to getting out and trying new things.
This year I've hopped on you tube and taught myself to knit.
Surprisingly I've gotten really good! And I've just self taught.
    I'm currently knitting a blanket.
It helps because you have to count rows and it takes a long time (I'm only half way through my blanket after 7 months) but it keeps my mind of other things, it keeps me relaxed and helps me zone out, it gives me a chance to make sure I get "me time"
And as I slowly get more confident I'm thinking of going to some classes (still struggling with having to be around other people though) but I'm getting there.
YouTube is great for learning new hobbies.
I didn't even know what I wanted to do, I just started searching videos of things for beginners.

My skin tingled when this thread came up in my post feed.

This resonates with me soundly....even though I realise this thread was started last year I wanted to contribute. The OP even had a quote that resonated:

“The most terrible poverty is loneliness, and the feeling of being unloved.”
    ― Mother Teresa

And that's true. That's so true. And this was me! I was asking those questions! This maybe still me! Only that I've made some changes.

I have engaged the services of a conditioning coach (with my hard earned savings) and I am going to build my body and compete.

No drugs. Just sweat and integrity. I start next week. Eeek!

I know. It's farkin far out there but I thought, I'm scared so I might as well maximize the opportunity and really scare the holy living crap out of myself and see if I can counter it. And that's where I'm ending up in April.

And yes, I started learning exercises via YouTube. As long as you have a great internet access contract, it's an incredible resource!

Just get out and participate in the world and don't be afraid. It's like I used to be really scared to run at night and then I went out running at night and saw people doing all these fun activities or ran into people and saw things that I might like to do. Just being outside not scared and opening your eyes you see the world and it just inspires you. However if you're inside searching at your own will your at the mercy of your own direction. When you are outdoors where things are happening things you might not necessarily think of just happen in front of you.
