    Thanks everyone for your input thinking we might go with the David Jones option after all the comments as the text message service is a great incentive as we can use the time we would have been queuing to go and do something else. Have read about the Christmas markets down at Southbank so might head down there too.

    We went with myers in the end, we went to David Jones but decided the set up was nothing special so cued for nearly an hour for a two minute visit with santa in Myers Santaland. Have to say he was a really good santa and up with the knowledge of the toys DD asked for. DD loved the train ride too, photos very costly but what can you do - we paid it as do most parents!
