You wonder when your LO is going to stop waking at the a$$ crack of dawn and let you get a reasonable sleep (say 7am?)

    False.

You are trying to get laundry done before the rain starts this afternoon.

I've been trying to teach him that it's too early. He gets his dummy and I lay back down in bed. I don't get him up until 530 but it's not working. We've been doing this for more then a month now. He doesn't cry or anything. He is just awake. He just talks to himself happily. Mummy is so very tired. Think I would prefer to go back to a night feed at 2 and then have him sleep til 6ish.

    True!

You forget what it feels like to wake up naturally.
