Default 7 days of positive opk's, am I pregnant?

I am new to these forums and don't really know all the abbreviations sorry..

Me and hubby had BD 8 days ago and started feeling a bit off for the passed few days. I must add that we conceived our first child with ease, probably the first try!
We have been using a condom since my son was born which is 18 months ago until that night.
I bought a pregnancy planning kit which contained ovulation tests and pregnancy tests also. I used the ovulation tests the day after BD and everyday since till today and all 7 days have been positive and the test lines have all been darker than the control lines. I have also done pregnancy tests including today and have been negatives.
So my question is what's the chances I am pregnant? Or if not why are they still positive?

They wouldn't happen to be the Forelife brand are they? When trying for our baby I found them to be too sensitive and gave me false positives. It wasn't until the test line was darker than the control line that it was a true positive for me. The Internet cheapie ovulation tests worked best for me, as well as digital ovulation tests although they were more expensive.

OPK's and Pregnancy tests test for different hormones in your urine.

OPK's measure increased LH (leutenising hormone) which is the hormone which spikes to induce ovulation. Everyone's body releases SOME LH at various times during a cycle (which is why there is often a line, and the tests say to look for when it is darker than the control line, not just when there is a line present)

OPK's dont work for everyone - some women have a dark line all the time, some women dont get a dark line at all. Mostly, you will get a line that is darker than is normal for you immediately prior to ovulation, but often it takes a few months of using the OPK's to work out what your normal situation is. (use them usually from around Day 10 to Day 20 and watch what the line does.

Pregnancy tests on the other hand, measure for HCG - a hormone ONLY produced in pregnancy. If you get a line, even a very faint one, it means you are pregnant.

Occasionally OPK's can react to HCG hormone, and produce dark lines on an OPK, but its very inexact so very unreliable.

So - in short, if you are getting negatives on the pregnancy test, I would believe those. At 8 DPO (days past ovulation) it might be too early to get a posative on a pregnancy test anyway so I would keep checking.

Are you certain you ovulated then? could the OPK mean that you are ovulating now?

I actually am using the forelife pregnancy kit. I have read that if the test lines aren't as dark or darker than the control line then it doesn't count, however with all of mine they have been darker than the control line. And just today especially now I feel so nauseous and my lower abdomen has been a bit achey.

I am tempted to go to the doctors to get a blood test tomorrow. Do you think that could pick up if I was pregnant or not at this stage?

You will get a positive pregnancy test before a positive ovulation test.

Forelife tests are horrendous. I even emailed them in disgust when I kept getting positives when I wasn't even ovulating. I wouldn't recommend Forelife to anyone. I've heard a lot of people complain about them too.

@Kittykatty1987 what ended up being your result? Were you preg or was it dodgy OKPs?

I'm having issues with forelife tests. Have had positives for several days now - test line MUCH darker than the cover line.
